The new project mgr. was not responsive. We had to work hard to get him on the phone, or to return phone calls. When issues arose with finishing out the project, he sided with the sub-contractors, and would give us empty promises with no action. He stopped being a project mgr., and became a contractor. It took us 9 months to get a simple electrical hookup for the furnace upstairs completed.
The last straw for us was this:
The plumber sub-contractor, in recommending the plumbing system repair, said that we did not need a back-flow device on the part of the system that went from the well to the yard irrigation. What happened is that the pump leading to the irrigation failed, which caused the yard to not get water, which caused the pond/waterfall pumps to have to be replaced. We'd been trying to get the project mgr to find out what was happening. He did not call back for 3 months. When he finally did, he called it a maintenance issue rather a faulty design issue. Further, he went to bat for the plumber and said it was over the year's warranty. Why were we paying an extra 18% if he was not going to be a project mgr? We have had to be the troubleshooter, and action generator.
Their solution to the problem is to replace the pump that failed. Our request is that they stand by their work, and re-evaluate their design-- Is a pressure tank/ backflow device is required? What really caused the pump failure?
We called their quality control dept. and registered a complaint. They promised to call that next day with next actions. It has been a week, and we have heard nothing.
Previous to the experiences with this project mgr, I would have highly recommended this builder.
