The doctors & vet techs at Oswego Veterinary are patient and informative, and have been really helpful to me and Phoebe.  While I learned how to do blood testing & how to give insulin shots, they helped me work through my anxiety about managing Phoebe's condition.  Also, in particular, Dr. Tongue has been amazing.  She's gone out of her way to be available to me and engaged with Phoebe.  I absolutely believe she genuinely cares about my cat & that has made all the difference.  I cannot say enough good things about the level of service Amy Tongue provides her patients.  I could not give any higher recommendation.

Additionally, Phoebe goes to Eve for grooming.  I know Eve loves Phoebe too, which makes is much easier for Phoebe to behave during grooming.  Also, as Phoebe has grown older, Eve has taken great care to treat her very gently & to come up with ways to reduce Phoebe's stress during the grooming process.

I've never been to a better clinic or had better veterinary service.  I highly recommend them.

Eve Tucker is amazing. She?s been taking care of our dog?s grooming for the last 8 years. Our dog is really skittish and aggressive to strangers. She hates going to the vet or groomer. However, we need her nails trimmed regularly. Before we met Eve, the only way we could get her nails trimmed was by taking her to the vet and sedate her completely. ($120 plus each time). It was very costly and unpleasant for the dog.

Eve noticed how much stress our dog was in each time we needed this done, so she suggested to the vet that if they can prescribed anxiety medication, that we could give our dog before coming to get her nails trimmed, then Eve would try to slowly train her to get nails trimmed like other dogs. Eve has been so patient working with her over time. She?s gentle and confident and our dog picks up on that. Our dog has come a long way from needing to be putting under to get her nails trimmed to now simply going to Eve and jump on the grooming table and handing her paws to get her nails trimmed each time. No more sedation, no more stress for both us and her. Eve is truly the best of what she does and genuinely cares for the pets/people.

We really appreciate all she has done for our dog and would highly recommend her.

The reason the reflected ratings are very high is because all went very well despite the presence of the other canines. The groomer, Kristin, clearly loves her profession and her canine clients. She was relaxed, efficient and loving to our dog and we felt our dog was in excellent hands. The grooming was VERY well done. The environment was clean and friendly both to owners and canines. Going forward, I would love to have our dog groomed here again. However, we will need to come to a better understanding about what constitutes being isolated from other canines.

All in all Kristin was excellent in her handling of her four legged customer and as cited she did a great grooming job. Our dog loved her!

Staff as always was friendly and welcoming to both me and the patient. Explained and apologized a slight delay (very slight).
Vet Tech (Nurse) did preliminary exam, took vitals, and current health history. Dr Duggan had recently seen this dog and has he was in great health determined the extra cost of her exam was not necessary.
I began coming to Oswego Vet Hospital when my original Dr joined the clinic. Dr Duggan has been the primary Dr we have worked with as she does accupunture and one of my dogs needed that type of care.
The staff is always professional, welcoming and a pleasure to work with. There is always a followup call after each visit and time is always taken to do client education and anwer questions.
This clinic also has a vet who treats birds. It is great to have access to multiple treatment options within the clinic.

The office is well-managed and all the Vets and Techs are very knowledgeable and professional. That said, I always feel as though we are being and quot;up soldand quot; for every possible procedure (i.e. dental cleanings, optional vaccines, tests, etc.) Whenever we bring our dog in for a simple vaccine, we leave with a bill that is 2x greater than expected.

I've been taking my pets to Lake Oswego Animal Hospital for years, and they've consistently provided excellent care. They've provided high quality care with compassion and understanding, and I've been very happy with their service for years.
The experience I had with them in late Aug/early Sept really exceeded everything they've done for us so far. My cat became very ill in the wee hours of the morning. I called and left a message before the hospital opened and brought him in just after they opened their doors. They dropped everything to care for my cat, made arrangements for a sonogram as soon as they could get a tech in to do it, and then called me when my cat took a turn for the worse so I could get him down to Dove Lewis. We got our sonogram, our diagnosis and treatment, and my cat survived.
This was a horrible experience for my cat, for me, and for the staff. They were with me all the way, and cheered when my little guy recovered. I felt sure that I wouldn't be taking him home, but because of their care and attention, he's still with me.
I can't say enough good things about these people.

Not well...
Got notification in the mail that my puppy needed her booster shot, her $29 booster shot. When all was said and done, the bill was $140....they said they had to give her a wellness check in order to give her the shot. The postcard they sent didn't mention anything about a and quot;Wellness Checkand quot;....old fashion and quot;bait and switchand quot;. I'm trying to stick with a small business owner, but it's discouraging when they act like a corporation would. We received a letter, but no compensation.
Response from Oswego Veterinary Hospital
"We are sincerely disappointed a client of ours would ever walk away feeling taken advantage of and we always welcome the opportunity to talk the experience over and make every effort to repair the relationship. We left this client a voice mail on her phone the day we received her letter stating we appreciate the feedback and welcome the chance to discuss it. When she did not return our phone call we mailed the letter below. We will gladly mail a check instead of the credit that we placed on her account and intend to do so today and we will also include the fee for the pre-paid fecal. We also continue to be appreciative of the feedback and open to discussing her experience and hope she feels comfortable in contacting us at some point to do so. July 2, 2013 Dear [removed member name], I received your letter and was so disappointed that you had a negative experience with us. Our entire business culture is based on fairness, respect, compassion and gratitude; when we fail at bringing that forward into our relationships with clients it is disheartening to all of us. Balancing the owner’s desires, the pet’s needs, and our own standard of medical excellence can sometimes be a juggle where we miss a detail. In Blossom’s case, her visit on 6/18/13 could have been with a nurse instead of a doctor and I have placed a credit on your account for $35 for the difference between the two examinations. The remainder of Blossom’s invoice was for the vaccine and the Pre-paid fecal and I would encourage you to bring in the sample in order for us to send it to the laboratory to check for parasites. While I am tempted to try to convey the responsibility and liability we face any time we vaccinate or treat a pet, I know you understand those details and I don’t want to appear to lecture or deliver dry industry procedures. I can only tell you that this is an amazing group of dedicated and compassionate people, who have complete respect for the challenges of pet ownership and our goal is to always try to help with those challenges and not create more stress. I apologize if we did not succeed in doing that on your most recent visit. I did leave a voice mail on June 24th at the cell phone number we have on file for you, stating I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about your experience here and any additional feedback you may have and I’d like to extend another invitation to do so at any time. Best regards, Jessie Merritt CVPM Practice Manager"

We have used Oswego Veterinary Hospital for the past year since we got our little dog. They are very caring and competent. They examined him when first getting to know him and diagnosed a skin problem with his ears that has since disappeared following their advice. We boarded our dog with them several times once for almost a month. Each time he has been well cared for and given plenty of attention. They are always happy to see us and our dog and he is happy to go to the vet which is a sign of how well they have taken care of him. We happily recommend them to our friends and will use them in the future.

I have a small mixed breed. I thought the grooming was great. They were really nice and he looked really cute. I especially like Dr. Ward. They have several vets there. Dr. Ward was great, he was very thorough and didn't rush me. She was very compassionate and took her time with me. I thought the office was very clean and very welcoming and open. It is a little house.

These folks are pros and make sure our girls are killed with kindness and care. Our oldest is turning 15 and they're sure to use care with getting her up and down on the grooming table. They get tons of kisses and cookies. We have our dogs groomed every six months or so and guess where they're going? Oswego Vet!

I have a senior labrador mix that needs frequent visits. We did have her on an antibiotic that was wreaking havoc her and Dr. Ward was great with her and is always willing to change meds or help with suggestions to her issues. We use Oswego Vet for grooming/nails, Laser Therapy and Senior check ups.

We have been going to Oswego Vet for almost 20 years now. Of those 20, 11 have been while we live in Sherwood. We are willing to make the half hour trip because they are so good. We have two indoor cats, so they don't usually need much other than well checks. One of our cats had had severe over grooming issues and the vets have been very helpful and knowledgable in trying to diagnose the issue. Additionally, they are wonderful with him and his and quot;vet traumaand quot; after being poked and prodded so many times.
I have been boarding my cats here for the same amount of time, and they are always well taken care of. I appreciate the extras that are offered (but never pushed on me!), as well as the regular recess and love time they receive as part of the boarding. I usually get them the full groom once a year as well, and they come home clean, soft and with short nails!
From the great receptionists, to the wonderful vet techs, hospital staff, groomers and of course vets, we have been nothing but pleased with this practice. I have two other family members that now use them, as well as friends. I highly recommend them!
Also, the garden is wonderful too! It is so nice that Dr. Tongue has kept it and it continues to thrive and add beauty to the neighborhood!

They are wonderfully caring with the animals. They are highly professional. The office is meticulously clean in all regards. I had to have a 17 year old cat put down. I was handled with great empathy and care. I have been with them for over 20 years. It's hard for me to get around. One of the groomers comes to my home and picks up my cat. She then brings her back to me. I pay her extra for that. I think their prices are a little higher than some, but they treat your pet like family.

Oswego Veterinary Hospital is outstanding, Lake Grove Veterinary clinic in my opinion is lacking. We acquired a dog several years ago that turned out to have fear aggression. We took the dog to Lake Grove Veterinary clinic for initial shots etc.. After that visit we wanted to board the dog there and was told no because of his fear aggression and the dog might harm staff. We found a great boarding facility Windy Ridge in Sherwood who have welcomed the dog on numerous occasions and finds the dog to be comfortable with them. Recently we planned a trip out of town and wanted to board our dog. He needed updated shots, no problem or so i thought. I called Lake Grove Veterinary Clinic to get shots. They said no shots unless the dog got a physical. I said okay lets get that physical. They called back later to say that they would not give dog a physical because of his fear aggression. Basically they refused service for my dog and offered no solutions. I called Oswego Veterinary clinic and discussed my situation and my dogs temperament with the technician, Heather for several minutes, we discussed a muzzel, we discussed tranquilizers, other options. Our phone call ended with her saying I have just the Doc for you, Dr. Pam Duggan and i will make it a point to be in the room with her as i understand your dogs needs. She said I will schedule you for an hour appointment ( no extra charge) so we don't rush your dog. We will do the best physical possible; but make sure your dog gets the shots because we would rather not have your dog go without shots and get sick than allowing him to get sick. Hum, how is that for compassion, how is that for solutions compared to Lake Grove Vet Clinic. So I took my dog in in a muzzle. I won't take you through the whole appointment; but just let me say Dr. Pam and the tech, Heather spent close to an hour with my dog, charming my dog doing the physical and administering shots. They suggested that I walk my dog by the hospital from time to time, a vet or tech will come out and give my dog a treat, bring the dog in for a minute or two so she gets use to the place. They actually want to board my dog unlike Lake Grove Vet Clinic. I highly recommend Oswego Veterinary Hospital and strongly discourage Lake Grove Veterinary clinic particularly if you have a pet that might bother the staff at Lake Grove Vet Clinic.

I think Oswego Veterinary Hospital is excellent. Their pricing is excellent for the services they provide. The staff is very friendly and very professional. The office is very clean. The hospital has a nice environment. The veterinarian that I see does very good follow up. She called me the next day to enquire about my pet. She called three days later and then again three days later from that to check on my pet. So, she did three follow up phone calls over one visit that I made. I highly recommend them.

The work was just fine, and they were very quick. We got in quickly with the cat, they trimmed the nails, and we left. They were easy to make an appointment with, and the price was very reasonable. We have never used them for veterinary services. We would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.
