The doctors & vet techs at Oswego Veterinary are patient and informative, and have been really helpful to me and Phoebe. While I learned how to do blood testing & how to give insulin shots, they helped me work through my anxiety about managing Phoebe's condition. Also, in particular, Dr. Tongue has been amazing. She's gone out of her way to be available to me and engaged with Phoebe. I absolutely believe she genuinely cares about my cat & that has made all the difference. I cannot say enough good things about the level of service Amy Tongue provides her patients. I could not give any higher recommendation.
Additionally, Phoebe goes to Eve for grooming. I know Eve loves Phoebe too, which makes is much easier for Phoebe to behave during grooming. Also, as Phoebe has grown older, Eve has taken great care to treat her very gently & to come up with ways to reduce Phoebe's stress during the grooming process.
I've never been to a better clinic or had better veterinary service. I highly recommend them.
Eve Tucker is amazing. She?s been taking care of our dog?s grooming for the last 8 years. Our dog is really skittish and aggressive to strangers. She hates going to the vet or groomer. However, we need her nails trimmed regularly. Before we met Eve, the only way we could get her nails trimmed was by taking her to the vet and sedate her completely. ($120 plus each time). It was very costly and unpleasant for the dog.
Eve noticed how much stress our dog was in each time we needed this done, so she suggested to the vet that if they can prescribed anxiety medication, that we could give our dog before coming to get her nails trimmed, then Eve would try to slowly train her to get nails trimmed like other dogs. Eve has been so patient working with her over time. She?s gentle and confident and our dog picks up on that. Our dog has come a long way from needing to be putting under to get her nails trimmed to now simply going to Eve and jump on the grooming table and handing her paws to get her nails trimmed each time. No more sedation, no more stress for both us and her. Eve is truly the best of what she does and genuinely cares for the pets/people.
We really appreciate all she has done for our dog and would highly recommend her.
All in all Kristin was excellent in her handling of her four legged customer and as cited she did a great grooming job. Our dog loved her!
"[member name removed], Thank you so much for the feedback regarding Scarlet's recent groom with us. Kristen will be giving you a phone call to talk over some different options we may have to help you feel better about Scarlet's next visit. Best, Jessie Merritt Practice Manager"
Vet Tech (Nurse) did preliminary exam, took vitals, and current health history. Dr Duggan had recently seen this dog and has he was in great health determined the extra cost of her exam was not necessary.
I began coming to Oswego Vet Hospital when my original Dr joined the clinic. Dr Duggan has been the primary Dr we have worked with as she does accupunture and one of my dogs needed that type of care.
The staff is always professional, welcoming and a pleasure to work with. There is always a followup call after each visit and time is always taken to do client education and anwer questions.
This clinic also has a vet who treats birds. It is great to have access to multiple treatment options within the clinic.
The experience I had with them in late Aug/early Sept really exceeded everything they've done for us so far. My cat became very ill in the wee hours of the morning. I called and left a message before the hospital opened and brought him in just after they opened their doors. They dropped everything to care for my cat, made arrangements for a sonogram as soon as they could get a tech in to do it, and then called me when my cat took a turn for the worse so I could get him down to Dove Lewis. We got our sonogram, our diagnosis and treatment, and my cat survived.
This was a horrible experience for my cat, for me, and for the staff. They were with me all the way, and cheered when my little guy recovered. I felt sure that I wouldn't be taking him home, but because of their care and attention, he's still with me.
I can't say enough good things about these people.
Got notification in the mail that my puppy needed her booster shot, her $29 booster shot. When all was said and done, the bill was $140....they said they had to give her a wellness check in order to give her the shot. The postcard they sent didn't mention anything about a and quot;Wellness Checkand quot;....old fashion and quot;bait and switchand quot;. I'm trying to stick with a small business owner, but it's discouraging when they act like a corporation would. We received a letter, but no compensation.
"We are sincerely disappointed a client of ours would ever walk away feeling taken advantage of and we always welcome the opportunity to talk the experience over and make every effort to repair the relationship. We left this client a voice mail on her phone the day we received her letter stating we appreciate the feedback and welcome the chance to discuss it. When she did not return our phone call we mailed the letter below. We will gladly mail a check instead of the credit that we placed on her account and intend to do so today and we will also include the fee for the pre-paid fecal. We also continue to be appreciative of the feedback and open to discussing her experience and hope she feels comfortable in contacting us at some point to do so. July 2, 2013 Dear [removed member name], I received your letter and was so disappointed that you had a negative experience with us. Our entire business culture is based on fairness, respect, compassion and gratitude; when we fail at bringing that forward into our relationships with clients it is disheartening to all of us. Balancing the owner’s desires, the pet’s needs, and our own standard of medical excellence can sometimes be a juggle where we miss a detail. In Blossom’s case, her visit on 6/18/13 could have been with a nurse instead of a doctor and I have placed a credit on your account for $35 for the difference between the two examinations. The remainder of Blossom’s invoice was for the vaccine and the Pre-paid fecal and I would encourage you to bring in the sample in order for us to send it to the laboratory to check for parasites. While I am tempted to try to convey the responsibility and liability we face any time we vaccinate or treat a pet, I know you understand those details and I don’t want to appear to lecture or deliver dry industry procedures. I can only tell you that this is an amazing group of dedicated and compassionate people, who have complete respect for the challenges of pet ownership and our goal is to always try to help with those challenges and not create more stress. I apologize if we did not succeed in doing that on your most recent visit. I did leave a voice mail on June 24th at the cell phone number we have on file for you, stating I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about your experience here and any additional feedback you may have and I’d like to extend another invitation to do so at any time. Best regards, Jessie Merritt CVPM Practice Manager"
I have been boarding my cats here for the same amount of time, and they are always well taken care of. I appreciate the extras that are offered (but never pushed on me!), as well as the regular recess and love time they receive as part of the boarding. I usually get them the full groom once a year as well, and they come home clean, soft and with short nails!
From the great receptionists, to the wonderful vet techs, hospital staff, groomers and of course vets, we have been nothing but pleased with this practice. I have two other family members that now use them, as well as friends. I highly recommend them!
Also, the garden is wonderful too! It is so nice that Dr. Tongue has kept it and it continues to thrive and add beauty to the neighborhood!
"Member, Thank you for your validating words. We are honored to work with beautiful Sashi and appreciate your long time loyalty to our hospital. Sincerely, The team from Oswego Veterinary"
"We are so pleased we could help KC with some of her fear and anxiety. Thank you for your trust in our team. Sincrely, Oswego Veterinary staff and Drs. (especially Dr. Duggan and Heather)"
