The first time Peter came around he was great. He inoculated 5 birch trees for borers and fed the property compost tea. He charged us $400 for the inoculations and $100 for the compost tea to feed the property. He was very friendly and polite and I trusted him. Fast forward to February 2016 and I receive an email with an invoice for $400. It was for inoculating 4 birch trees (we still have 5) and feeding the property compost tea again. I asked him why he'd inoculate the birch trees a second time when he told me that they only needed it once, he replied that it was his mistake and suggested just the compost tea at $100. I said OK to that and asked him to let me know when he'd be out so I could unlock the back. Then I receive an email with an invoice for $200. It was suggested that we do TWO treatments of compost tea instead of one. I asked why it doubled in under a week. He said it was getting confusing and that was it. He never answered my question. He never responded to my emails. Soooo... I can only conclude that his "recommendations" have more to do with how much he thinks he can get out of you than any actual science of what the landscape needs. This realization makes me sad because he came across as a nice person, a trustworthy person. I can understand if office staff have made mistakes over and over again regarding the number of trees, what needs to be done when, what price will be charged, etc. The numbers are all over the place. In one field it said 4 trees (we still have 5) yet in the quantity field it said 3. Very confusing. But he never told me it was the office's mistake. He never told me anything as to why the numbers fluctuate like that. All in all this feels shady to me. I'd be cautious about hiring this guy if I were you. He doesn't keep his word and his word changes all the time. BUYER BEWARE.
