It went very well. I cannot remember any time when when they didn't show up (which is so common with contractors), or they didn't do their best possible work. These guys are a hands-on, father-son team that take pride in their work.

Brandon Crossley came across as very honest and quality oriented. When he took a look at the dry rot on the door frame, he suggested the right way to fix it, rather than take half-measures to cut cost. In some other places he suggested effective methods to save on cost (such as using a washer pan instead of caulking the entire laundry room in case the washer leaks).

He is not the cheapest out there. I would not hire him for small handyman kind of work (e.g putting up shelfs etc), but he would be the first person I would hire for something like remodelling or fixing something major, where quailty and honesty are more important that getting the lowest price.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Crossley construction. They have been in business in the Portland area for at least 20-30 years,. They know the code, they perform all projects with high professionalism and safety. Brandon is a perfectionist and it shows in the high quality of work. Brandon is not about low-balling a person to get the bid -- he lays out an extremely well-researched and thorough bid and makes it clear what each line item would be -- for example, he may budget it a medium-high quality carpet or flooring, but if you want to go higher or lower end, you understand completely how this will affect the bottom line. His bids are pretty much spot-on -- no hidden surprises. They are incredibly reliable and trustworthy and professional -- very highly recommend. A+++!

We have used them for a number of projects. We are always very happy with them. They are very good in giving accurate bids and working out all the details with us. We are very happy working with them. I feel very comfortable with them. We have a job in process now.

Brandon Crossley and his father, Mike have been in business for 20+ years in the Lake Oswego/Portland area, and after our experience, we could see why! They are incredibly professional, thorough, exact and very aware of cost issues for the homeowner. The permitting process has been smooth and they are aware of necessary local building codes. The money and time estimates were spot-on (they did not underbid to get the job and then add more later like so many other contractors) and if we made new choices that cost more, Brandon was very clear about helping us decide whether the cost-benefit was worth it. The payment model we chose was cost of goods plus his building fees, and that seemed to be the best way overall. Brandon is prompt, efficient, skilled and supervises any subcontractors with a constant emphasis on quality. After 17+ yrs, we have found the best with JM Crossley!
