Motorcycle Service
We live in another rural area, 70 miles away from La Pine. We wanted to drill holes through the desert hard pan so we could plant trees.
A few months ago we had rented a skid steer here in our rural community and it took all day long do dig through the hard pan for about 20 holes. The people sold the skid steer here so we had to broaden our search for equipment.
We found Peak Performance in LaPine (at a different address: 16840 Finley Butte, but the same phone number as is listed) and these folks told us we would be better off with the tractor than an skid steer. They rented us one, plus an auger, and then threw in a smaller auger for free in case the big we wouldn't go through the earth and the hard pan, and we drove away happily. We drilled about 50 holes, averaging about 4 feet deep with the 18" auger, loaded the tractor back onto our trailer, and were back in La Pine in about five hours. They charged us for only half a day! Their whole day would have been some cheaper than the skid steer was from the local place several months ago.
They're very friendly, helpful, funny, and we'll happily go back for any other rental needs. We felt quite a home with them. They're a mom and pop outfit, not a huge conglomerate, and it felt good to shop locally.
