Don't believe ANYTHING this contractor says he can do. He lies to your face, lets his employees pad their time, and will not be around to fix what he messed up. We made the mistake of paying him only days before the basement leaked and flooded.
Description of Work: The contractor built a basement that flooded -4 inches - with in 1 month of his leaving. He refused to come and address the problem thus we had to take him to the CCB. He hired a lawyer & denied it and settled "outside" of the CCB in order to preserve his CCB rating.

We hired Summit Construction OR Inc. to build a basement and then two story house on top of it. He swore he could build a waterproof basement according to the design of Les Tipton of Blue Eagle Engineering. Les even provided our local building inspector a letter of guarantee that the design was waterproof. We moved in on April 10 of 2010 and by May 10 of 2010 our basement started leaking. We called Joe Seale, the contractor / owner of Summit Construction. Then we waited, and waited, and waited and Joe NEVER came to see the situation, even though he was working 6 miles from us at that time. Approx. June of 2010 we began the process of filing a grieveance with the Construction Contractors Board (CCB) . We finally got a 'hearing' date set for mid-September 2010. Summit Construction brought some of his sub-contractors to the hearing even though the complaint was against him only. Joe Seale never offered to come back and remeady the situation. He, instead, chose to settle with a cash amount greater than his CCB bond ( to keep it off his record ) and we have had to hire a new contractor and a new engineer and are currently in the process of trying to water proof our brand new basement.
Description of Work: He was supposed to build a water proof basement according to engineer's details. The result is a flooded basement 4 inches deep for months and and new house built on top of it. He would NOT respond when water began leaking in - thus we eventually took him to the CCB and he settled with cash - a larger amount than his bond. What does that tell ya.....
