Description of Work: Beware, beware, beware of Busy Bee. They were called in by my insurance company after an accident, and they stayed in my house for over a year, at which point they still were not finished with repairs that should have taken 4 months, tops. They are not really contractors--they have no skills to manage and pull jobs together, and they have no tradesman skills like carpentry or finish work. They leveled nothing before trying to rebuild, which is the very first rule of building. Here is the horrible part, though. They charged for things they did not do at all, like a tile backsplash in the kitchen. Duh, it's simply not there. There was more fraudulent billing in charging for new materials, like the plywood underlayment for floors, and then using the old materials. Even more horribly, they took everything out of the house they thought they could use elsewhere: light bulbs, batteries, and even stole a galvanized fitting off the newly repaired boiler to replace it with aluminum. They refused to tell me the status of the job for months at a time. They repeatedly brought three dogs into my house, when I had specified no animals, and the dogs left their business there. One of the workers called and left me a threatening phone call when I complained about the dogs. They charged for removing wet insulation, but there it was, still under the house, and they had not replaced it with new insulation. I took them to the CCB in Oregon, who has found them guilty on several counts--you should check the web site there. And if you have any questions about their fraud and theft, talk to Officer Eckhardt of the La Grande Police. Run as fast as you can the other way from Busy Bee and the Baums. Going on two years since that accident, and I am still trying to pick up the pieces and get my house back together. Since this happened, 8 other similar stories have emerged from friends. Not only did Busy Bee NOT fix my house, they cost me additional money to re-do their inept work.
