We took the car in and they emptied and replaced the antifreeze, as well as recharging our cooler. When we picked up the vehicle we paid $120 for this service, and before we even left the parking lot the car was doing the same thing. We went back immediately and after waiting for five minutes to even speak with someone, told the repair manager that the problem was still not fixed. He said that there must be a part that needed to be replaced and asked if we could leave the car with them for a couple of days. We told him and quot;noand quot; and made an appointment to come back after the part was in.
About four days later, the shop called and said our part was in. We took the car in and were told to come and pick the car up at 3 p.m. When we arrived the car was still in the same spot and had not even been worked on. The mechanic rushed out, after we complained to the manager, opened the hood and quickly put the part in. It took all of three minutes for him to do this. We sat in the car with the air conditioner blowing, but hot air was still coming out. They told us they didn't know why it would do this, so could we leave it with them again. So this time we did.
When we picked it up the next day, we were told the problem was fixed. The manager couldn't explain what was fixed though, only that it took an hour and a half and that we needed to keep (and pay) for the part that was installed the day before because at some point it would have needed to be changed out anyway. So we wrote another check for $180 and went on our way. Three streets away, the problem happened again.
Because we felt the shop was incompetent, we didn't return. We did call to say that the problem wasn't fixed and all we got was a, and quot;Really? I can't imagine what it is.and quot; This infuriated us.
My father-in-law finally fixed it for us. There was a loose bolt in the control panel that just needed tightening. This was the suggestion my husband had for the shop in the first place. Next time, we're calling my father-in-law because My Mechanic is no longer our mechanic.
