The inspection was harried and haphazard. The report was just check marks in boxes, with no relavent comments. Even at free, this inspection is not worth anything.

The inspector arrived promptly, spent approximately one hour on the inspection and report, and left us with a report on the day of inspection. Months later, due to problems that required repair work we learned, from a second inspection we contracted for, that we had potentially serious problems with gutter drainage resulting in dry rot and water getting behind the siding. These problems were obvious to the naked eye once one got to eye level with the gutters. This second inspection also detected an open splice electrical connection under the house that was not noted in the original inspection report. We notified Todd, the proprietor of the company, about the problems and also filed paperwork with the Contractors Board because we were close to the 12 month expiration period warranting the work. Todd met with us, and we explained we wanted reimbursement for the cost of the repairs we had made, because if we had known of them before buying the house, we would have had the seller pay for them. He said he would check with his insurance company. From then on, communication became almost non-existent. I would call or e-mail and he would say he was still waiting to hear. He never initiated further contact, and stopped responding to our inquiries. My assessment: Pillar to Post provided us seemingly sincere attention, but did nothing to follow through, and just let the matter slip away. Our costs for repairs were about $1,500. They apparently did a slipshod job on the original inspection, and while paying lip service to their high concern for their clients and the company's reputation, their actions were evasive and unprofessional.

The inspectors carried out a thorough visual inspection of the house being considered for purchase and afterwards went over their findings with me. They provided a written report the same day of the inspection.
