He's extremely honest and trustworthy, fair, and easy to work with. His bid was by far the best bid I got, the other two being between $6000 and $9000 more. Example: One company added $1000 to "rent a scaffold" that was needed for the crew to work on my difficult second-story decks. Really? Brent did the decks by himself with a ladder. His bid was also based on using much better quality decking than the other two companies based their overpriced bids on?and he ended up replacing all the railings when we discovered so many of the posts had dry rot that it wouldn't have been worth it to try to repair them.
He helped me problem solve how to proceed as we went along, and this is something I truly appreciated. When he got to one long stretch of second story deck, he found there was dry rot behind it going into my house. Because that deck really didn't serve a purpose, we decided to remove it altogether, which then necessitated some unforeseen construction and finishing in the process, including building a small set of steps. It turned out great.
I really appreciated him being able to talk to me about where we were, money-wise, any time I'd get nervous with all the changes, which he could walk me through in a way I could understand. He carefully traded off things that were part of the original bid versus what we opted to do as things progressed, which I believe was extremely fair.
He cleaned up the working area in my carport every day, showed up exactly when he said he would, and always let me know if he had to be a little late. I appreciated how he worked. He has a very organized, careful, not slow but very methodical and focused way of working that I think is why he doesn't make careless mistakes. He pays attention to small details and has a high standard when he works.
I would hire Brent Anderson to work on anything I needed doing in the future. Highly, highly recommended.
