I can only assume that she did a creditable job of tuning. I did not like the religious views that she voiced during the time she was working. I would not hire her again just because of her personality; I found her cold and overly perfectionistic, unable to relate to what I wanted.
Description of Work: Tuned my upright piano. Do not know for certain the date/year or cost.

Response from LOUISE NICHOLSON PIANO SVC
I would like to respond to [member name removed] review. I was shocked, to say the least, to read it. I have over 1700 clients in the Rogue Valley and I love them all, meeting so many of the wonderful residents of this valley is by far the best part of my job! Probably the most upsetting part of this review is the claim that I talked about religion during a service call. I can truthfully state that I would never discuss politics or religion with a client, it's extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. Years ago I gave a talk at a Piano Technicians Guild meeting on ethics and this was one of the main topics, so it was very upsetting that someone would accuse me of this. I'm absolutely sure I did not do this, if any other client of mine knows that I have ever discussed religion or politics with them please make a comment! Secondly, unless I was having a very bad day I would hope that I would never come across as being cold or in any way uncaring or unattentive to my client's needs. Piano technology is a very complex science and I try to take the time to explain in layman's terms when someone has questions about their piano and I make every effort to satisfy their curiousity and demands. I've never been accused of being "over perfectionistic" before, not sure whether that is good or bad! To follow up, I contacted [member name removed] and it's true she didn't remember the year, date or price of the tuning. Maybe that's because it was in 2003, twelve years ago (I looked it up in my file). I asked her what it was that she remembered me saying about religion and she said I talked about religion the entire time but could not remember anything at all in particular that I said. By this time I was wondering whether she had the right person. I'm totally perplexed about this review and it has been bothering me since I read it when it came out last summer 2014. If you are interested in the technical notes I took on her piano from my file they are as follows: 11/25/03 Brought piano up in pitch 30 cents to A440, had not been tuned in awhile. Lubed squeaky sustain pedal. Has lots of false beats in the treble strings (cracks in bridge), wound bass strings have inharmonicity, not well matched. Mid section hammers hard, need voicing. Follow up tuning due within 6 months (after pitch raise). 2-1/2 hours, $100 12/12/03 Customer called to complain of "tinny sound" in mid range, come back and check tuning. 12/17/03 Went through piano, tuning was ok, informed of false beats and bass string problems and needs voicing. No charge. 12/16/04 Called to say piano didn't stay in tune. (One year later, did not have follow up tuning) Advised above, she declined follow up.
