Thomas Construction and Remodeling

We had an old pergola in our backyard with a huge wisteria plant covering it that provided shade in summer.  Ken was recommended to us by our tree person who we consulted about saving the plant while replacing or restoring the pergola.  Ken was obviously knowledgeable about the work, he gave us a very competitive bid and we felt very comfortable about hiring him.
 We did prune the wisteria back substantially before his crew arrived.  Wayne arrived the afternoon before they were scheduled and he dug three foot holes for the new posts.  Bobby arrived first thing the next day and set out all the equipment for the crew.  The fellows worked through the rain and built a beautiful, classically styled pergola of  2 x 4 and 2 x 6 cedar in the foot print of the original structure.  They swept the patio, piled all the old pieces in a neat pile for removal and even put the cement bags in the recycle bin before they left.  They were careful to keep the gate closed so the dogs didn't run.  They were cheerful, worked hard and finished in a timely fashion.  The next day all the scrap disappeared to be recycled. 
We are very happy.

He usually does an excellent, and is very personable. I use him for most of the projects around my home. The only problem is that he is occasionally too busy, which I think is a good thing.

We found Kenneth Thomas to be very knowledgeable, creative, and considerate.  We were living in the home during the remodel projects.  His planning, sensitivity, and fine communication skills absolutely minimized any inconvenience this might otherwise have caused us.  Each project he undertook exceeded our expectations for it, both in terms of utility and aesthetics. Mr. Thomas adhered closely to his original price estimates for his work.  Once he had to redo a fairly elaborate Japanese-style gate because as constructed it was simply too small to serve as the main entrance to our back gardens.  He suggested the redo and did not charge us any extra.  As it now stands, the gate is the outstanding feature of our yard and the envy of our neighbors.  We would unhesitatingly recommend Kenneth Thomas as a contractor for anyone seeking an intelligent professional with a broad range of skills, a congenial manner, and a very good eye for detail and quality.

They were prompt, did an excellent job in a timely manner, thorough, honest. I continue to call on them when ever a problem arises. I would highly recommend them. I would say as far as quality goes, they cannot be beat. I will continue to call on them for all my needs.

After an initial consultation and our picking out the various items we needed to pick out, the work was completed over the course of three partial days. One day the cupboard unit was removed, the wall shelving unit was refinished , the kitchen cabinet doors were removed for the glass insert installation. On the second day(some weeks later), the carpet was laid, the newly constructed bookcase was installed and the electrical outlets were installed. On the last day, the painting was completed, along with some final touch-ups.

They did very good service. He is a gentlemen and a good person to work with.

Kenneth was great to work with. There were a few unexpected problems along the way -- it's an old house. One by one, each problem was solved to our satisfaction. He is a great communicator, he listens and is responsive. He and his crew were always respectful of the household and our privacy.

The work spanned several months, and that was our fault. We had family in and out at various times and he we very flexible about scheduling the work around our family's needs. When the work was 'on', he was always prompt and things proceeded apace. I'm sure that was an extra challenge for him.

One major complication was that we discovered the subfloor insulation needed to be replaced. With a little brainstorming with the plumber, and us, he found a novel and cost-effective solution. One that worked well with our weird schedule, and one that was technically correct .

Job's done. Water pressure is wonderful, the tub and tile are beautiful. We plan to hire him again for a few other projects, and that's the most powerful statement I can make.
