Scotties is familiar with the Nissan problem and have fixed several cars. Nissan dealers want to replace the entire seat frame including drive motors at a cost in excess of $1000. I bought the rear seat bracket, which is the part that breaks, over the internet from Nissan of McKinney Texas for $110 and paid Scotties $80 to install the part.
The mechanic at Scotty's, Brian, had my car a full day to fix the problem. He assured me that the problem was fixed and guaranteed my car would pass DEQ. I took my car to DEQ several times and it did not pass. A week after the repair the engined light came on again. I called Scotty's to discuss the problem, I was told I needed to call in a few days - the technician that operates the diagnostic equipment was off for a few days. I needed the car fixed immediately so I took it into a dealership. The dealer found the problem and repaired it correctly. The dealer told me that they could find no evidence of any repair or work done by Scotty's, in their opinion, all Scotty's had done was to hook my car up to the diagnostic equipment, which resets the engine light automatically. In fact, I was told by the dealer that the part Brian cleaned out, the charcoal canister, is a sealed unit and cannot be opened.
A few days later I went back to Scotty's to get a resolution. When I confronted Brian with what the dealer had said - Brian became angry, used foul language toward me and became aggressive. I found a manager to speak to - her name is and quot;Cookieand quot; Before I could get my story out - she walked over to the garage to have a private conversation with Brian. She came back and dismissed me - telling me that Brain did not promise my car would pass a DEQ - that he didn't say he and quot;cleaned out the canister and quot; - which cannot be cleaned out, that they don't guarantee work performed. Amazing! This is the most unprofessional, inept organization I have ever dealt with!
