Every aspect of the work was wonderful, from Elizabeth's professionalism to the talented workers.  Very pleased with everything.  The work was done over a year ago (I am slow in writing my review), but no problems with any of the work or products used..  Eliabeth even found me a great plumber and and an electrician for related work.

OH MY.  Elizabeth was great from start to finish.  We were dealing with an insurance company of the delivery company and Elizabeth went above and beyond.  The work was excellent and they finished ahead of schedule.  They kept in touch with us every step of the way during the ordering and then the installation.  We have had a lot of work done in the past few years on two homes...this was our best experience by far.  Would use again in a heartbeat.

We hire them to do two rooms' tile installation, they work quickly and professional, though some small finish were not done properly, but after we contact them, they did get someone to fix it. overall good works!

Used NW Total Home to install engineered wood floors in my family room and adjoining powder room and remodel my kitchen. Noticed that the floor in the powder room was suffering water damage a year later. Called a plumber who determined that NW Total Home had used the wrong flange to install the toilet when they removed it to do the flooring causing it to leak. Will have to redo the floor but of course, won't be using NW Total Home.
Kitchen remodel was delayed almost two weeks due to them losing a cabinet and having to order a new one. Their project manager Elizabeth was useless in communicating status. Did not know when her crew would show up to work. After all the hassles, Elizabeth refused to let her crew drill holes in the cabinets to install cabinet pulls I got from Home Depot. I refused to buy her over priced pulls and with all the hassle she made me endure, I expected this to be done free.
The final insult came when I noticed that the new cabinets were smaller than the old ones resulting in less usable space. The only good thing was their crew, they took pride in the work and were a pleasure to deal with. Management is another story, useless!
I'll never use NW Total Home again.

Choosing tiles in their showroom was not a pleasant experience.  The woman (call her E) doing this helped us initially select tiles and convinced us to do wainscoting around the entire wall.  E never sent us a summary of what we had decided at any step in the process.  NWTH doesn't lend out samples.  And for some of the tiles they had small samples only.  To review and finalize our tile choices we had to rely on looking up the tiles on line.  We went back and made some changes and reduced costs with our designer.  E was vey indignant that we were changing what she had suggested.  Our designer finally left the store because she didn't want to debate E.  E told us our designer didn't know what she was doing.  Not professional.
Our shower had the biggest issue.  The grout on the wall had tiny pock marks and try holes (like bubble holes).  It was also unevenly applied (with the grout lines being wider and higher than other other spots).  NWTH insisted that it was fine.  We didn't want any water to collect and mold to build.  All tile work we've ever had done and NWTH's grout on the floor had no such issues.  It dragged on for a week+.  They brought in E and the dealer rep.  Both said that's normal for "sandy grout". As they were trying to convince us that it's all fine, my contractor mixed a small amount of grout and stated applying it over the holes and dimples.  That was all it needed.  And the areas with excess grout could easily be rubbed down with a finger as it hadn't fully cured or sealed.
So rather than hear the customer and try to solve the issue, they preferred to put effort into arguing that what we saw as an issue wasn't an issue.
Same thing on the glass shower door sweep: they had installed it backwards (deflector on the outside of the shower).  Our contractor called and they told him on the phone that it was correct.  I started to look up on the web and collect examples and videos showing the deflector should be on the inside.  Next time when one of the NWTH guys came over he admitted it was backwards and got it replaced.  This was very minor, but it seems that first reaction again was to say it's supposed to be like that "Silly customer."
Also they had not included sealing in the bid.  They sealed the shower because of the brouhaha over shower grout.  They say it's not needed and newer grouts don't need it.  I was shocked it wasn't included.  We've done tile before and sealing was always included.  Again not sure if this is a way of charging more or if sealing is history.

"NW Total Home strives to take care of all of our customers and to go above and beyond for all of our clients. This gentleman was the client of Kopp Construction. Kopp Construction is the client of NW Total Home. We have worked for Kopp Construction for 20+ years and continue to do so. NW Total Home holds our reputation to the highest standards and we pride ourselves on the fact that we do not advertise and work purely off client referral. Unfortunately, everyone cannot be pleased. Occasionally, no matter the extent one goes to please a client and exceed their expectations, their expectation can never be reached. Sincerely, NW Total Home Inc.,"

I don't care what other reviews this company has had, all I know is my experience with them. Gary and Elizabeth are the best. They basically remodeled 60% of my home, and I was not easy on them. Gary was able to illustrate everything he was intending to do, and he kept me under budget. He kept every single promise he made to me. I certainly believe that it wouldn't have been done without the professionalism of Elizabeth. Elizabeth was great, she was there to listen to my cries. I was so impressed by these people that I had them do my deck as well. They redesigned it, and they made my life very beautiful (especially in my shower). I own a thirty-five hundred square foot home, and I would hire this company anytime, any place, and on any other planet! Again, Gary and Elizabeth are the best! There is nothing more to say. If I could give them 9 stars, I would. They are definitely priced the way they are for a reason, you wouldn't take your Rolls Royce to the Honda dealership. NW Total Home Inc. is the right decision for all your remodeling needs. It wouldn't be so if it weren't for Elizabeth and Gary, Angie's List couldn't rate them any higher! Any takers?

The workers arrived on time and ready to start. They cleaned up when finished. The foreman checked with us at the end of the job to make sure we wer happy with the work.

They were fast to get back to us and agreed to everything we requested. Then every turn there was "surprises" and upcharges. I have at least 30 specific instances of broken promises and lies in this one project. The biggest fail was them wanting to find a "workaround" for the City of Portland Permitting Regulations Which is the *only*reason I hired them, to do all the work up to code. PS this is why I got an Angie's List account to educate others on this company!
Response from Northwest Total Home Inc
"[member name removed], I'm sorry your project did not go as you had expected it to. Unfortunately, as per our original signed contract agreement with you, all permits involving the city and county are your (the owners) responsibility and all liability with such falls upon you. NW Total Home Inc went above any beyond to help you have less of a financial impact as your budget was maxed out and you were upset at the prospect of an additional charge. Additionally, as a show of good will and understanding, we allowed you to get a refund on any items not completed by NW Total Home, although our signed contract agreement states that we do not offer refunds on any kind if the owner chooses to terminate the agreement. I am truly sorry that your project went over budget and we could not complete the work for you. I am pleased that you said all work that was in fact completed by NW Total Home was done very well and I hope your project was ultimately completed to your satisfaction. Sincerely, NW Total Home INC."

Cabinets took longer then expected to come in. Poor communication with delivery. Install was not organized. Granite seams didn't match very well. Got granite sealer all over hardware on cabinets. When screwing cabinets In they hit electrical box and we had to have a new electrical box Installed.(which they did not pay for). Didn't have tools they needed. One day job turned into several. Very unprofessional. Will never use again. They did respond to complaints but blamed us and wouldn't take responsibility for their mistakes.

Yes, there was no contract with me specifically, the contract was in my daughter's name and the work was done at my daughter's house. I wrote the check however and paid out of my personal account so they did do business with me. I was the one at the home when the work was done as well and spoke to them during the project.

"CCB was called to this project and it was determined that there was no wrong doing by NWTH and absolutely no electrical damage cause by NWTH. This review is misleading with knowingly false information provided by the reviewer. Please correct the review to reflect a person opinion, not accusations proven by the state of Oregon to be false. Respectfully, NWTH"

I bought a house that had shiny white porcelain tile in the kitchen and horrible stained and worn carpet. As soon as I saved enough money I went searching for hardwoods. At NW Total Home I worked with Ken Boles who helped me find a floor I could both love and afford. We did the demo and removal of the old floor ourselves, and the day the boxes of flooring was delivered Ken came to look over the sub floor and make sure it was ready for the install. Just as scheduled the guys arrived and went right to work. They did a beautiful job in the time frame estimated. Now it looks like a home. The rooms flow together and I couldn't be happier. End to end the service was exceptional. I'm hoping to replace countertops soon, and NW Total Home will be my first stop!

Absolutely fabulous! Elizabeth was very helpful in maintaining a schedule and organizing the work that needed to be done. She took a load off of my mind, and I felt that I could just hand things over to her. She has a good eye for design, and was extremely helpful in letting me know what most definitely should be done, and what I could hold off on. The estimate that was given was ala carte, allowing me to pick and choose the things that I could do vs. what I wanted the contractor to do. EVERY ONE of the guys that came in to do the skilled craftswork was pleasant, and professional, and very hard working. I was extremely pleased with this company and the ease of working with them. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We bought a house which was filled with horrible, dirty carpet. We wanted wood floors to minimize allergies. We heard about the company from a friend and got a bid. Dan Ashby came out, measured and made suggestions that were helpful but not pushy. We got one other bid which was $2000 more and did not include all of the material. They started work on a Friday and were done the following Wednesday -- working through the weekend at no extra charge. They hauled everything away and left the place clean as a whistle. The work is beautiful and Dan made other suggestions for future work--things that will enhance the house without costing a fortune. During this process we called Dan several times, including during a vacation! He was cheerful and prompt throughout. We are very pleased.
