We were charged for two electricians (a journeyman and an apprentice). This was a small job and only needed one person (journeyman) to complete. To have the apprentice on our job, it cost us an extra $354; which was just $34 less than half of the labor cost. When we got the bill and saw we were charged for two people for the entire job we called the owner. He said that the apprentice needs to get hours for training. I didn't feel it was our responsibility to pay for the apprentice's training, and that it was clearly a one person job. The owner said its difficult to tell if a job needs two people or not and that is why he sent the apprentice. I disagreed with him and requested a reduction on the labor cost. He refused and I let him know they lost our business (we're repeat customer). My recommendation for anyone hiring them is make sure you know ahead of time what they are going to charge you. Despite being repeat customers, we feel they took advantage of us by having two electricians.
