Worst experience ever....and unfortunately it's not over yet. Mid-May Lowe's came to my home to provide a bid for Hardy board siding and a deck replacement. The sales person seemed nice enough and spent a good amount of time outside the house measuring and assessing the work that needed to be done. We were please with the verbal quote he provided and on the spot chose to move forward with contracting for the work to be done. We selected colors, discussed timelines and signed a contract for nearly $20,000 worth of work before the Lowe's sales person left the house. The contract included an estimated timeline that work would begin on or around 6/20 and be complete by 6/30. It is August 2nd and NOTHING has been done, NOTHING. What has transpired is hours of wasted time and fruitless conversations with Lowe's and the contractors (hired by Lowe's). We have been given a variety of stories: the siding and decking contractors will work simultaneously (start 6/20, finish 6/27); the siding is not in yet; oops, the deck bid was based on cedar, not Trex, increase of $2k; the decking contractor will complete his work prior to siding: the siding guy wants to complete work before the decking guy; the siding contractor informs us he was never told of a decking project; siding guy tells us the decking guy is on vacation through August 1st (this was in the beginning of July); siding guy tells us that Lowe's has overbooked him and that he wont be able to start work until mid-September at the earliest; Lowe's store manager tells us the decking guy will start work 8/2 or 3 "without fail" and is very apologetic that we are not satisfied with the experience (offers NO concessions); weekend of 7/30 we try unsuccessfully to reach the decking guy to confirm his start of 8/2; 8/1 we reach the Lowe's salesperson who tells us the decking contractor has been dismissed by Lowe's because his work was not up to snuff and that a new decking contractor would be in touch with us next week about a start date. The only thing that has started is the billing for the work (18mos same as cash financing). So very disappointed in this experience.....all I can say is, BUYER BEWARE.

I placed to order yesterday and they accommodated me by delivering today. They had a very large truck and forklift and he brought it in the drive way. They are not supposed to unload and I did not expect them to, but they put it very close to my garage door. They were right on time and the ordered came as exactly as agreed up on. I would recommend them.

Everything went well.  They delivered the unit on time, did a good job with the installation, and had a reasonable price.  Ultimately, they did a good job, and we have no complaints about any part of the service.

Price was about average for the materials, the estimator was very helpful throughout the remodel and the installer was on time and completed the job on time with no problems

It was great. It was really good. I always had a good relation with them. They do what they say. They were professional, on time and everything was done as promised.

Their price was very high. They gave a good presentation, but I had another guy with the same windows that they were offering and the same service at half the price. The experience was good, the price was not good and I would not go with them because of that.

Their prices are reasonable. The main thing I like about them is that they are close to my house. They are convenient. They have a lot of stuff. They are not a place that prides on customer service. Their pricing is not the best but they are up there.

My experience with them was great. They were very prompt, they were on time, and they answered any questions that I had.

Well I guess over all it was ok. I have been doing most of all the other purchases online though. My lighting was limited to a few stores and I found a better price on my sinks as well.
The process is still going on so that is all I have to add.

I just loved their service. We went with them because they were the cheapest. They provided very fast service. They have very good customer service. The people who came to do the work were very professional and they got the job done very quickly and the quality was very good. I would rate them high overall. I would use them again in the future.

Overall this was a poor experience - from the start Lowes lowes had difficulty even helping me order the water heater. They then told me a delivery date about 4 weeks in the future which was acceptable. When that date arrived, I called to confirm delivery and they had no information about the product's status. After several phone calls I was told that it was going to be an additional 2 weeks time. A new delivery date was set. On that new delivery date I again called and was told it had been postponed. Finally it was delivered but we had cold water for several weeks waiting ! Ultimately Lowes did refund my delivery cost of $79 and while they were unresponsive and initially unwilling, they did ultimately give me 20% (over $250 off) the purchase price of the unit since it had been so delayed. This required many phone calls on my part.

We were on a tight budget and compared Lowes with Home Depot as well as several other independent contractors in the area. From the beginning to the end, Lowes employees were responsive. Larry at the Hillsboro store was our primary contact, and he was professional, responsive, very knowledgable and skilled at coordinating all the activities with the various subcontractors. Larry was the absolute best -! We had thought that they would be a lesser quality than using a contractor, but we got solid cherry hardwood cabinets, and the final price was 30k under the bids we received from independent contractors.

In both cases, contractors arrived promptly at the specified time and all work was accomplished in reasonable time. Two to three workers were on the job and each job was easily completed within one day or less; so, any inconvenience was minimal.

It went ok, but not great. It was hard to determine what carpet I needed/wanted. All the carpet seemed very expensive - this was for a rental house - I did not need great carpeting. One salesman finally said "all these are 30% off" and steered me toward some more reasonably priced carpet.

The process to get the install scheduled was odd. I selected the carpet. Then they send someone out to measure. Then I had to go BACK to the store to pay for it. Really? No over the phone or online option to pay - had to go to the store again. Hello Lowes, 1988 called and wants it's point of sale process back.

 It seems like there were a few other phone calls in there as well - the process was overly complicated and involved far too many phone calls. It would have been easier to go to a carpet store, pick carpet, have them come out and measure, and call it done. And it really wasn't any less expensive at Lowe's. The install was scheduled, they arrived on time, and did a nice job. It looked good when they were done. Grading them down for the awkward sales and scheduling process.

They were fast, efficient and reliable. I thought the price was fair.

We purchased the kitchen cabinets and they also did the installation. I thought that their prices were very reasonable and were known for their quality. Their communication with us was very good and the person that we worked with on the cabinets was excellent. He followed through on everything and made sure we were well taken care of and that the installation went in correctly. He did a very good job and we were very pleased.

(I have to lump Lowes in with the contractor since they effectively did the job together--I don't know their names and had no choice in their selection.) Had Lowe's replace our 1980 windows/sliding glass doors w/ Milgard windows/doors--super high efficiency. I went with a place where I could SEE the pricing before I purchased, as opposed to slimy window retailers who seemed to size me up financially prior to giving me an estimate. For the windows/doors I bought, I feel like I got a good deal. (Fed tax rebate plus rebate from Milgard) 11 windows, and 2 standard sliding glass doors which had to be retrofitted into non-standard door openings--some extra cost there. The installation group are not Lowe's employees, but contractors. My first experience w/ contractors. They came out, did the measure, and I had them measure the front door since I knew I'd want to replace that later in the summer. After the windows were ordered/made/shipped, they arranged a date to install. It took about a month from date of purchase to the install date. It took them 2 days to install. The 2 installers were on time, but very touchy when I asked them why some windows seems not level. That threw them off--they measured and then gave me a reasonable explanation why they appeared that way. I wasn't cranky, just wanted to know. I had several questions during the day, and again, pretty touchy about answering. Most of the work turned out nicely--I think they got a little lazy/cheap with some of the pieces of heavily knotted molding that went up, but we can hide most flaws w/ caulk. They took the old windows/doors with them. One warning: I was very determined to buy windows that had the best ratings for heat loss. I was given incorrect numbers by the Lowes salesperson. They weren't as efficiecient as I had been told, but you only know that when you see the actual stickers on the window the day of the install. I called the salesperson at Lowes, and he said those were the numbers they had been given. I should have checked the Milgard website. I did later and found out that they have conflicting numbers also. Oh well.

I like stores quite a bit. I think that they have a pretty good variety of products and services. I think that they could open a few more registers to help people with checking out. I also noticed that you usually have to go out and find someone to help me with things.

I went to Lowes to find a washing machine after my old one stopped working. The prices were pretty competetive.

Through the years of remodeling, I have noted the exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff at the Hillsboro Lowe's but now have a name to put to that service. Bob Cage, the Zone Manager, has apparently inspired his staff to a level of competence unrivaled at the other home remodeling stores. I have shopped them all and the difference is profound.

IT WAS JUST EXCELLENT ALL THE WAY THROUGH.

Lowes came out to give the estimate very quickly. They did not seem to be very knowledgeable when it came to this type of product. They also told me that they do not do finishing work. They also did not know if the man whom was going to do the work was certified or not. I don't know I was just kind of confused about the whole situation. They were very nice but they should know a little more about these kind of products if they are installing them.

The installation went well and he matched the trim really nicely. The only problem was with a latch that broke. I had to contact the factory and Lowe's had the guy come back out and fix it. It was a delay that was less than desirable, but he did a good job fixing it.

GETTING THE CARPET MATERIALS THAT I NEEDED AND GET THE WORK CONTRACTED OUT WITH LOWE'S HAS BEEN A LITTLE FRUSTRATING. THEY DID NOT HAVE THE AMOUNT OF PRODUCT I NEEDED ON HAND SO IT'S BEEN A WAITING GAME. ADDITIONALLY THEY WOULD NOT EVEN SCHEDULE THE INSTALL UNTIL THE PRODUCT ARRIVED AT THE STORE (NORMAL STOCKED ITEM) TO THE TIME TO CLOSE THIS OUT HAS BEEN LONG AND DRAWN OUT. I WOULD ONLY HIRE THEM AGAIN AS THIS APPEARS TO BE AN INDUSTRY STANDARD. WHERE HAVE ALL THE GOOD CONTRACTORS GONE???

WHEN I GOT HOME I DISCOVERED THAT THE FLOORING DID NOT LOOK AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD. I RETURNED THE FLOORING TO THE STORE. THERE WAS NOTHING PHYSICALLY WRONG WITH THE FLOORING, I JUST DID NOT BELIEVE IT FIT THE DECOR IN MY HOME. THE STAFF OF THE STORE WAS VERY HELPFUL, UNDERSTANDING AND FRIENDLY.
