I hired another roofing company to evaluate the work done by Duron Roofing, and their assessment was that "Either the people doing the work were incompetent and didn't know what they were doing, or they were in a hurry and didn't care that they were doing a lousy job that wouldn't last."
Problems discovered are as follows:
1) Dozens of exposed roofing staples improperly installed in the spaces between roof shingles and rusting away, leaving holes where water leaks through.
2) Nails from the previous roof that weren't removed as they should have been and have punched through the new roof shingles, leaving leaks.
3) Roof staples improperly installed with one end completely down and the other end sticking up almost 3/4 inches with new roof shingles installed above them. The high ends of the staples eventually punched through the new shingles and caused leaks.
When I contacted Duron Roofing to describe the situation and give them a chance to fix the problems discovered, their response was, "You can go F**k yourself." It appears that legal action is now my only option. I have contacted the Construction Contractor's Board in Salem and will be contacting my attorney. You really shouldn't use this company if you want a roof that lasts.
Perfectly. The actual problem was noted in minutes, plus a few other corrections that were needed. All in all, the estimate was $1160.00 to correct an improper installation. The work was scheduled, performed, and all corrections made. Additional minor problems were found as material was removed. These problems were corrected for an additional $90.00 and completed at the time all work was scheduled. Mr. Duron and his crew are professional, and efficient. I appreciate the way they do business.
