They did a good job on the restretch, but were not so good at contacting me to confirm the service date or showing up at the scheduled time. It seemed pretty costly for the ten minutes they spent completing the work.

I probably would use this company again because overall I was pleased with the original installation.

Installation went great. All work was professional and installers asked my preference on how stairs should be installed.

These 2 installation problems are only now apparent.
1. Installer did not stretch the carpet correctly and it’s bunching up—“rucking”.
2. There are gaps where the installer didn’t put carpet pad so there’s nothing between the carpet and the floor.
Also when the carpet was first installed, the installer left gaps between the carpet and baseboard.
As he was leaving, he told us to fill them in with quarter round. Abbey Carpet did offer to send him back and have him take the baseboard off and lower it. We didn’t have that done because we would have had to repair and repaint
the wall areas involved.

They were a lot of talk but no action, and they were not providing examples of product for me, and I was the one doing all the leg work, which was totally against what was supposed to be happening. My insurance company said, I was not expected to use my gas, and my time running around trying to find wood. I had custom made cabinets, and I was trying to match the wood. They were not attentive. Coming from surgery and chemotherapy, they were not attentive to my needs. No matter how many emails I sent them to bring me samples of the product. They hired somebody to come in and completely refinish the floor, and the guy botched it horribly, and the insurance people and contractors got together and shook their heads and said it was the worst job they had seen. It was so shoddy. They had to rip it out. They told me to go and look at another place, and I went and looked at it, and picked the wood. The workers kept saying that there was defect in the wood, and the foreman overlooked it and said they should just use it. The insurance had to come in again, and this started in 2011 and it is still going on today. Cudahy were just trying to appease me. They had another contractor who they said was the best, but they sent 12 year olds to put down floors. They had to put down the floor 3 times. That is not normal. Just because they are big, you would think that they would be bending over backwards to make it right, but in the meantime during this process, I got very sick, and it was a stress related illness. I ended up having to have surgery in 2012. I had to hire an attorney, and it was constant stress. Last December, I was diagnosed with cancer, and my health went to hell while dealing with these people.

It went well. They put the install off one day, which put other things off until the counter and flooring were installed. The installers were long time employees who were total craftsmen and quickly and efficiently installed counter top and floor. The counter is a very new Wilson art product but they knew how to manage it.. The edges were a special process to attach and needed extra attention later, which was attended to promptly.
I was slightly dubious about using a flooring/counter top company that I'd not heard of, but they were excellent. I think this company is one that contractors like to use.

I felt the work was average. There was no review of the work when it was complete or follow up. I had an issue about the work and I have not been able to get ahold of them. Their prices were comparable to other companies.

I was looking for an affordable but durable floor for a small commercial kitchen. Dan, one of the salespersons was extremely helpful in helping me select the best product for the best price. He drove to my construction site, measured the floor and scheduled the work. Everything went as planned an on schedule. I would definitely use this company again. Top notch service! I worked with Liz from Abbey Carpet. She is very patient and was a joy to work with. Before we moved in, we had Liz organize our hardwood refinish and new carpet install. We are very pleased with both jobs. We paid about 2.8k for the hardwood job and 9.2k for the carpet. We chose the best carpet padding and it was the right choice. The carpet is wonderful and soft! We were always changing our minds on our choices and Liz was never pressuring us and allowed us to make changes often throughout the selection process. I highly recommend Abbey Carpet. My overall experience with the company was very stress free.

SWe were doing a complete kitchen remodel including custom kitchen
cabinets built by a local cabinet shop. We had ordered vinyl laminate
flooring from and quot;the big orange boxand quot; store. However we found, at the last
minute, that they were unable to provide the flooring we had ordered.
They were also unable to satisfy our needs with another product and we
were dissatisfied with the service at and quot;the big orange boxand quot;.
We then
went down the street to Cudahy Lumber Co. Abby Carpets to see what they
had to offer. The laminate flooring was intended as a temporary
solution and a price saving measure since we had gone over budget on the
cabinets. Our plan was to replace the flooring later with a better
produce.
The sales and installation service at Cudahy Lumber / Abby
was quite satisfactory. The salesman showed us a side selection of
laminate flooring and helped us select a color and type that worked well
for our needs. The installation was done as scheduled and completed
professionally. Also, the cost was less that that quoted by the and quot;big
orange boxand quot;.
All in all we were happy with the experience and have
since replaced that floor with a high quality solid bamboo flooring
which was not available at Cudahy / Abby. We will shop there again when
their products fit our needs.

Everything was perfect. Their cost is reasonable and the work was very well done. The person that you work with, Dan, is wonderful at selecting and recommending not only the quality of the material, but the color selection.

Very well. The removal of papers, file cabinets, craft cabinets, craft materiels had to be done previous to the installers arriving. This was my responsibility; as was the slow (in order to organize) replacement of these things. The desk and return was moved out of the way as the floor was being installed. hen put back in place. Depending on the items you would need to remove from the room, I suggest using packing boxes, which can be stacked. I also put items on the bed in my guest room.

Abbey Carpet / Cudahy Lumber rescued me from a crisis and solved my complicated problems. I had a difficult interface between the new vinyl floor and an existing carpet. A section of wall had been removed, leaving a dip in the floor where the wall 2 x 4 had been; the carpet needed to be extended and patched using scraps that I had saved; and parts of the vinyl and carpet subfloor needed to be evened out where two thicknesses of plywood had been used. I had hired another installer and agreed on a date for him to do the vinyl installation and carpet interface, but he did not show up, and didn't call to cancel. This was a scheduling nightmare. Liz at Abbey Carpet came to my rescue. She had people start the job the next day.
The installation had unusual problems that had to be solved. It required a visit by a special fix-it guy who had to even out the floor with a belt sander, and the carpet installers had to make three visits. But Liz and Abbey Carpet / Cudahy Lumber stood by their work and got the job done very well.

I was under a lot of pressure to choose the colors, styles and types in a short time period. I worked with Dan in the Hillsboro/Aloha office. He is an excellent ambassador for Abbey Carpet/Cudahy Lumber. He was very patient, knowledgeable, honest and helpful. He helped me narrow down my choices and thoroughly explained the implications of each decision. The craftsmen he hired to install my flooring and granite counter tops had decades of experience and executed the jobs flawlessly. I felt that Dan was very flexible and fair on both the pricing and scheduling. The next phase of my remodel with be to add tile to the kitchen and bathroom. My first stop with be to Cudahy Lumber due to their great customer service, integrity and high quality products. I can't praise them highly enough.

After having someone install twice Home Depot's vinyl plank in my kitchen, I totally wasn't happy with it. I noticed I was getting raised areas in the kitchen. What was happening was water was getting into the seams. I decided to have someone pull it up and install sheet vinyl. I went to Home Depot for a estimate and thought they were quite high.
Decided to go to Abby's Carpet for a estimate. Not only were they very friendly and helpful but Elizabeth Guthrie came right over and measured for me. The estimate I felt was right on so arranged to have the vinyl installed. I was more than pleased with their installers and the sales lady, Liz. They even fixed some areas where my laminate flooring was installed incorrectly. Top-notch job. Thank you, and I would certainly use them again and will.

Overall a great experience. They were very helpful and patient with our long process of picking out the tile we wanted. The installer was a master craftsman and did a beautiful job. We plan to use them to replace our carpeting with wood floors in the near future.

Our downstairs had a water intrusion. Part of the carpet in the large downstairs room had to be cut away and thrown out. We decided to use tile where this piece of carpet had been. To complete the look we wanted we needed an additional strip of carpet between the old carpet, (the part that was not damaged), and the new tile installation. The new strip was needed because we could not exactly match the old carpet. Also, our existing carpet was not flat and needed stretching.

Cudahy Lumber/Abbey Carpet helped us choose the right color from a carpet remnant they had. Their workmen then came out and stretched the existing carpet, cut it perfectly and installed the new remnant strip between the old carpet and the tile.

The whole effect looks very good. The workmanship was excellent. The price included the large remnant carpet from which the strip was cut.

From the person who helped us select the products/colors to the installers who did the work, our experience could not have been more positive. The cost was considerably less than other bids received, and the work was completed timely without having to wait 2-3 months for installation. We're thrilled with the "new look" and would recommend Cudahy to anyone considering flooring and/or countertop installation.

See above. It was a great experience. After the work was completed, we found one tile that appreared to have a defect that might cause a problem later. We called Liz and she came out and looked at it and agreed that it should be replaced to be safer. The same men who installed the tile returned and quickly removed that tile and replaced it with another. I should also mention that they were very respectful of our space while they worked. They removed shoes when entering our home and laid down something to walk on so they wouldn't track dust.

We were very pleased with them. The installer of the floor did an excellent job. He was very friendly and outgoing and very helpful. He suggested certain alternate workarounds and gave us choices. There were a couple of times when we had to kind of face him down but it was because they were busy. They were very fair and I would very much recommend them.
