Car Washes
Al Kinney the Owner of Clear Bra of Oregon quoted a very competitive price. Through the dealership we purchased the car they quoted $999 both quotes included materials and installation labor. Materials Included the hood, front fenders, front grille, head lamps, front bumper, external mirror. Hood fim covered ~ 18" from front towards windshield. I believe the auto dealership also included protection of the lower driver and passenger rocker panels as well. Clear Bra quote did not include this.
I dropped off my car in the morning and picked it up at the end of the business day.
Al personnally gave me a ride to my place of employment in the morning.
Al noted the pre cut film for the grille was very poorly done and instead he cut new film to properly fit the grille pieces.
There was no extra charge and no delay in completing the job as promised.
Al was very knowledgeable about the product he uses and has a financial investment in the company that manufactures the film in the US in Massachusettes. He was also knowledgeable about a competitive film marketed by 3M automotive products.
He commented the 3M film was very difficult to install. No comment about it's long term wear properties other than to the maximum warranty length was 5 years.
Al enjoys his business and does a great job of customer care. When I picked up the car he showed me there were a few very small bubbles. He noted I should not try to rub them out as that will cause the adhesive to pile up and leave a permanent blemish. He said allow the film adhesive two cure for two weeks and any remaining bubbles he would remove. His information was correct I did return the car after 3 weeks and he removed the bubbles at no charge.
The film is essentially invisbile from a viewing distance of 15 feet.
The only surprise was Al failed to mention that for credit card use there was an additional handling charge of 3.5%.
I told him I would have appreciated knowing that upfront as I could simply paid by personal check. He apologized and quickly agreed to absorb the additional transaction fee. As he such a great job for me I agreed in the end to split the fee 50/50 with him as he is a small business.
