AL POHLPETER CLOCK REPAIR

Came back four or five times with clock to try to get it to work properly. The last time the chimes were intermittent and then the clock would stop running after about 5 minutes. The clock apparently needs to be restored and he does not seem to know that.

Mr. Pohlpeter of Another Time Restorations is extremely talented in fixing old clocks. My Eight-day Seth Thomas Weight Clock, Thomaston, Conn USA stopped showing the time. Mr. Pohlpeter knew it was not quite level. He fixed that then oiled it a bit in less than five minutes. Forty years ago an antique repair man had told me that it would not strike the hour unless I had new parts in the clock which I declined. In the five minutes, Mr. Pohlpeter also fixed the striking. I had not even mentioned that it did strike for forty years! He stayed to see that it was running properly and said to call is anything did not work. It has been two months of perfection.

We were very dissatisfied with the work performed. The clock worked perfectly before we had it cleaned. Once our home remodel was completed, we gave Al notice that we were ready for him to reinstall our clock movement. Al said he was backlogged and could not give us an estimate when it would be completed. We called at least once a week for weeks. Al always had an excuse why it wasn't ready. He finally came to install the movement, and it did not work. He came back repeatedly but could not get the clock movement to work properly. We finally gave up and had another clock repair company look at our clock. They were able to fix it the first time. I do not recommend using Al Pohlpeter Clock repair.
