It went fabulously! Absolutely pleased with the whole experience - start to finish. They were on time and did what they said they would do. The floors are gorgeous! You cannot even see where the new and old (refinished) floors meet. Thomas is a very nice person & takes pride in his work which he should. I will refer him to all my friends and family!

Worked around owner's schedule and did a very professional job. This was the third project Thomas has done for us and he continues to do great work for a very good value.

Thomas and his team were wonderful and the price was amazing. We are very pleased - the floors turned out even more beautiful than we imagined. They are true craftsmen and the whole team was committed to making our floors look perfect. The only hard part about the process was some miscommunication. If I were to do it again, I would have them come out a few days before to discuss color, quarterround, etc. and make sure we are all on the same page. Overall, we were thrilled with our floors and would absolutely use Thomas and his team again. Highly recommended.

Great. The work was done in the time frame promised. There was excellent attention to detail including clean up of materials and dust. These were "top nailed" floors. The work done included counter sinking the nails, sanding, applying filler to the nail holes, resounding, staining, sealing and at the end 2 coats of lacquer.

The home I recently purchased had such deep scratches in the hardwood, it looked like it would need so much wood filler that the repair would be visually apparent. I was pleased that after the job, I could not find the scratches or filler, even upon close inspection. I don't know how they did that! Fabulous Hardwood Floor crew made the floor look as good as new! Also, they left the house clean and dust free. This was the THIRD whole-house hardwood refinishing job that I've done with them over the past 10 years.

Thomas Nguyn's last work for us is still looking great after 14 years, so we called them back for this job. Work was superb. No damage to baseboards. They filled a conduit hole and sanded down a stain - avoiding board replacement. They carefully sealed off the rooms and nearby cabinets with plastic sheets to avoid dust. Finish was smooth, even, and ready to walk-on per Thomas' promised date.

The work went well and very timely, considering all that needed to be refinished. The floors were sanded, with open spots in boards and rather deep scratch marks. After completing the sanding, the floors were completed with good looking refinished tops, making them look new. Also, I would like to add that Thomas Nguyen and Fabulous Hardwood Floor Services has done work at my house several times. In addition, I have referred him to many people I know.

Very timely bid. They were booked out a ways but we were not in a hurry so that worked out OK.Price was more than competitive and the quality was just great. They showed up right when they said they would and were on time each of the 4 days of the job. Good dust prevention procedures and clean up each day. Thorough invoicing and close out.

These guys are awesome! Arrived as scheduled, total pros, floors are gorgeous! You'd never know some are brand new and some are 30 years old--they all match perfectly! No nickling & diming either. Clean work, reasonable price, great results.

After researching Angie's list, I called Thomas, as he was one of my top candidates. While I had planned on getting more than one estimate, his was so reasonable that I made the decision to have him do the work. Thomas was prompt, not only in coming to give the estimate, but throughout the entire project. Right on schedule, his crew showed up on day one of what would be a 3-day project (allowing for coats to dry, etc.) The work ethic of the crew was amazing, as was their attention to detail. In prepping the site, they encased the entire project in plastic (this included ceilings). This alone took several hours to accomplish. They then proceeded to sand the floors, always ensuring they were protecting the house and doing the very best work for which they were capable. We made the decision to go with a water-based poly, instead of oil-based, for a variety of reasons. They applied a sealer coat and followed this with two additional coats of poly. At the end of the project, I inspected the floors for flaws and found not one thing that needed correction. After having lived with the completed floors for one week now, and in different light conditions, I have yet to find even the smallest thing wrong. They are beautiful and literally flawless. In addition, we had one board that was in need of repair. Thomas and his crew included that repair in the work they did. I am amazed at how reasonable this job was, and from start to finish, the high level of expertise and craftsmanship. Our floors, which are 25 years old, look like they belong in a Street of Dreams home. You truly could not find a better crew to do such needed work. We recently purchased an 1894 built craftsman home in serious need of new flooring. We came across Thomas at Fabulous Floors on Angie's List. We had a tight schedule and needed an after hours consultation. We tried a few other competitors who were requesting consultant fees and also had after hour restrictions. Luckily, Thomas opened his schedule and met us after work at 6:00 pm. After meeting him we immediately knew we made the best decision! Not only did he listen to our needs he provided professional recommendations that ensured the home would maintain it's original charm. Thomas met our timeline and at a reasonable price. And most importantly, the floors are absolutely gorgeous!!! We never imagined our home would look so beautiful! I would definitely use Thomas again and highly recommend him.

We were going to go with Thomas, his bid was strong and he was even going to go back to our house a second time to measure for the baseshoe needed, since we added it on to the original bid. But that day another contractor had earlier availability and we went with that company due to personal time constraints. But I have to say that I was very impressed with Thomas. When I called to tell him someone else got the job, he was hugely gracious and good-natured. He has a terrific personality and sense of humor. He's one in a million and his positive attitude is greatly appreciated!

Thomas met with us at our home about a month before the job, measured our square footage and discussed our options with us. We talked about whether to lay the wood diagonally, horizontally or vertically. We talked about whether to use pre-finished or unfinished floors, and what thickness and lengths of wood planks to choose. He is very knowledgeable. We had been researching woods and methodologies for several months, and Thomas was the most straight-forward and up front contractor we encountered, even telling us some things we didn't want to hear, but explaining the reasons for his advice so we could understand his recommendations. He was clear that even if we chose to do things differently from the way he recommended, he would ensure his men did a good job for us based on what we wanted. We got a bid and agreed to a price and start date. Thomas' men arrived promptly at 9am on the first day we agreed work would begin. There were 3 men who worked very hard from 9am to 6-7pm every night from Monday through Thursday, and 1 man who worked Friday all day completing the final tasks. They taped off the kitchen cabinets and drapes to make sure the sawdust would not invade everything. They were polite and extremely diligent and hard working. Thomas kept in touch and came every day to The workmanship and artistry of the final product is beyond our hopes and expectations. The wood was installed to perfection, and the custom air vents and stairs are stunning. The first floor was cleaned when they completed the work, and everything was left very orderly. We asked them to remove three planks that we did did not like and replace them, and they did as we asked. They finished when they promised they would, and were very reliable throughout. The cost was precisely on bid, no upcharges. The experience overall was the best we could have hoped to have with our first major renovation. We are very grateful to have found Mr. Nguyen and Fabulous Hardwood Floor Services. They really delivered like true professionals and true artists. One side note -- originally I tried to reach Fabulous Hardwood Floors by email through Angie's List, but never got a response. That was why we spent months researching the project and interviewing other contractors. When we had trouble finding someone we felt comfortable working with, I called Angie's List to ask if I was using the message system incorrectly. They gave me Mr. Nguyen's website address, email address and phone number. I contacted him easily outside of Angie's List. He said that access to his Angie's List messages costs an additional fee, and those messages are not automatically forwarded to him at his regular email address. So if you are trying to reach him, I recommend using his website or phone number rather than the Angie's List message service.

They did a really beautiful job. They are super friendly and did a great clean-up.

Thomas and the Fabulous Hardwood Floor crew were very easy to work with. Estimate was spot on. All work was right on schedule. The floor came out fantastic! Very pleased with the experience all around and definitely recommend.

Prompt response for initial estimate, but email and phone communication failed after estimate. Thomas sent email with a date to schedule, replied with a confirmation, he then never responded to emails. Had to call 3 times to get a response the day that was scheduled, with him telling me he never received any of my communication? Now Thomas can't get me in for 2 more weeks...Meanwhile, I thought I had my floors scheduled, and now have another Angie's List contractor bending his schedule to get my job done before I move in next week!

Thomas was very straightforward to deal with. He provided a most competitive quotation. He didn't try to supersize during the appraisal, and in fact advised against additional services (adding a stain) that might have improved his bottom line, but, in his view, would not have improved the final outcome. We are very glad that we took his advice. To save on costs, I wanted to make the heating vent covers, to match the oak flooring, myself. Thomas, worked with me to do that, and helped by providing additional off-cuts to finished the job. Overall the experience was very positive, and I would have no hesitation in recommending Fabulous Hardwood Floor Services.

It was a great experience so good that I have already referred to a fellow worker and that job is also complete with perfect satisfaction. Will use and refer again.

The actual service that was performed was good but it was difficult getting details about specifics of what job entailed - we had to leave the house for 12 hrs but that wasn't explained when I asked how long the job would take and tried to get information. It would have been nice to have things reviewed with more specifics.

Thomas was great, Im learning as I complete various projects/work on my home, good contractors who do what they say, and do it on time are very hard to find, Thomas is one of those good contractors, my floors look great and the work was completed on schedule.

Be sure to ask lots of detail questions so that you are clear in your expectations. We were completely satisfied. Our cost was an excellent value.

We had three companies bid, and Fabulous Hardwood was the cheapest, so I was a bit skeptical. I also asked for some photos of recent work and got no response. But, we had two independent recommendations from others who said they did great work, so we decided to go with them. They did a really good job and the floors look great. I would recommend them to anybody looking for hardwood floor refinishing at a good price.

Our home is 20 years old and this was the first time we'd had the floors refinished. They were still in pretty good shape, but were obviously showing signs of wear and tear. Most notable were some grooves in front of the refrigerator where we had previously moved it out for service forgetting to protect the floor underneath. I was concerned that the grooves were too deep to be removed - but Thomas said "no problem" - and sure enough - they're completely gone! The first thing the crew did was to seal off as much of the perimeter area as possible to minimize dust. We have a very high ceiling in the entryway leading to the upstairs, but they took the time to run plastic all the way up. They also completely covered kitchen and bathroom cabinets, etc. They obviously spent a considerable amount of time masking areas off before they proceeded with the sanding. We very much appreciated this as it really helped to minimize the amount of dust left over. Mind you - there's going to be some dust here and there - I think it's almost impossible to avoid. But I thought they did a great job of containing it as much as possible. I re-tiled our fireplace In preparation for the new wood floor in the family room. Since it was carpeted previously, I wanted to raise the hearth slightly to match the height of the new wood floor. I asked Mr. T to "picture frame" around this - which he did beautifully. He even added an accent piece, which I hadn't expected. It really came out great! I had 4 different contractors bid on the job, all of whom I believe would have done an excellent job. However, Fabulous Hardwood Floor was the most reasonable bid of the bunch. I was a bit nervous about going with the lowest of the bids, but based on the long list of positive reviews here on Angieslist and the need to stay on budget, we went for it. They started and finished promptly - and the floors are outstanding! My wife and I couldn't be happier and I highly recommend these guys!

Dustless, detailed work, nice job. I am very satisfied, will use them again next time.
