About us
THE DOLLAR SCHOLAR is a locally owned and operated dollar store, catering to low-income families, educators, and special needs providers. We purchase good quality products and toys, then sell them to the public at very low profit margins. Many of the 3,000+ different items come directly from our customer requests. We purchase directly from manufacturers and importers, keeping our costs down to a minimum. We do NOT use traditional "dollar store" suppliers. Most of the products we bring in are hand-picked, new, and come with guarantees. If a manufacturer doesn't stand behind their products, we do not bring their products into our store.Any retailer could do this, but we are the only ones so far to do so. We believe in helping our neighbors, not profiting off of them. We want everyone to be happy, even if they do not spend money in our store. We live in the best place in the world, with Hawthorne Blvd being the most sought-after non-corporate retail quadrant in the country! (everyone in the world seems to visit our boulevard, and at least half of them stay for good!) In our store you can open and play with everything! We welcome kids of all ages! If you have a well-behaved pet, bring them in to visit our store dog, "Dollar"! She is almost three years old, and she loves to play! She is fascinated with kids!
