decks, drywall, lighting, remodeling, replacement windows
+ 3 moreBoth jobs went well and inside the scheduled time frame. With the removal of windows and drywall and re-installation of both, there was a lot of dust that was well contained by plastic sheeting that he installed temporarily. Overall, the results are well worth the small inconvenience of construction. We could not be happier with the results and we recommend this company to other potential clients.
Description of Work: This firm has over the past few months done two projects for us. First, we had him design, build and install two new decks. He recommended Trex decking for our application. The results are excellent. The design is tasteful, unique and functional. We couldn't be happier. The second project was the addition of two garden windows and some built-in "bookcase" style display shelves. The object was to increase natural light in the room and to also provide areas for the display of glass objects. Again, we were given options for the design. This project was much more complicated to execute but the result is that we accomplished both of our goals of more light and display area. During the middle of the project, he also showed his flexibility by responding to our concerns. When we felt we wanted more shelf lighting, he suggested the addition of some interior spotlighting to enhance the display of glass on the shelves.

+ -1 moreAfter seven months had to stop them and pursue a breach of contract dispute. Around 65 to 70 percent of work completed as of this writing. I've never seen so many unexplained delays. He would email to say work was going to be done then only put in an hour or two before leaving. At one point his relatives actually arrived at my home to try to get Mr. Schneider to leave for a family event. My house was always required to be in a state of readiness for him to work, and very little got done. Other contractors that worked on the job advised me to take action because it was wrong. Schneider Construction billed me, allowing some adjustments for uncompleted work, but at the same time summited a side bill for items claimed to be done outside the contract. Case in point, billed for closet shelves that were never installed. The uncut wood still sits in my garage. Please, please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. BTW if you would like to see the work they did that can be arranged.
Description of Work: Contracted to replace all existing doors, base moldings and window trim with new materials. Also did framing for major changes to master bathroom. Included in the contract was to make several small repairs around the house such as removing some old wall paper and applying texture. Contract specified that all work would be to owners satisfaction, and work would be completed within 60 days from start of job.
