Moen Machinery Co

This is the 3rd time in 2 year period that we've taken our Troybuilt lawn mower to Moens.  In February, it was taken in for tune-up and repair.  They had it about 3 weeks and it cost $221.00.  On 4/22/14, took it in (3 days before I left for a 3 week vacation), to have a LH wheel Adjuster replaced. I was told that since they weren't a Troy Built Dlr. they have trouble getting spare parts. I told them I expected a short delay however I expected to get the mower back upon my return. I called on 5/9 from out of state vacationing to Ck on status. Justin again reiterated that it's always difficult to find parts for our mower. Upon return to town  on 5/15 called & it wasn't ready yet. I found a Troybuilt website, called them and they immediately found that part and told me they could ship it to me from Texas within 3 days, at a cost of $50+ . I called Moen on  to tell them this, and the guy said, "The part just came in today!"  There was no apology at all.  This was on a Friday and I told the guy I needed the mower by the following Tuesday.  He said he would call me when it was done.  It's now Wednesday 5/21 and still no call from them, so I just called and it's been ready since yesterday, at a cost of $133. The counter person could not find the work order nor did the computer show the job completed.   What added insult to injury though was that when I talked to the guy on Friday, he said he didn't realize there was such a rush on this, if this was so he would not have taken the job.  It had been over 3 weeks since I dropped it off and my grass was about 5 inches high!  He thought this was a rush!!! [4/23 to 5/21]   Anyway, when I checked out reviews on the internet, there are a lot of bad reviews for this company.  I don't like being given the runaround and lied to, so I won't be giving them anymore business or recommending this company in the future.*

Took a weed wacker to store for repair. They said it would take 2 weeks for a diagnostic. Seemed kind of long. Left it anyway. The repair guy Steve, called back in about a week. He was very professional and friendly. Said it would cost $170 to repair. Pretty steep. So I said, "never mind." When I went to pick item up, there was a $30 diagnostic charge that had not been mentioned to me when I left it. Paid it anyway and asked for the diagnostic information. They  had some basic information. It needed service (knew that already), gas tank (was cracked when I brought in), and a carb rebuild.
 
Now I have my weed wacker, purchased a new gas tank and am going to ask a friend to rebuild the carb. When I got home with the weed wacker I noticed that there was a bag attached to the handle, and there were parts that they had removed from the engine to examine. Hopefully, my friend can fix it and all the parts are there. As a women going into a machinery store it would have been nice if the sales people had upfront told me there would be a $30 fee. I guess it was on their receipt, so I was beholding to it.  On the whole the store was okay, the service guy was great, but I thought the price was pretty high to fix. My loss.

They are timely in their repairs and their price is fair. They are professional and polite.  The service counter is really good.  They are kind of a one-stop shopping type of deal.  They sell equipment, anything that is landscaping related for commercial or residential use. They also do repairs on any of those brands of equipments that they sell, so it is a real good place. Their price is very competitive. I would absolutely use their services in the future.
