J L Flooring

Description of Work: J and L Flooring installed a carpet in a house which is used as a rental. The house was not occupied and had only one bed and one nightstand and a small kitchen table in it. I live out of state and Lee of J and L was referred to me as doing a great job. First I had difficulty getting him to get me an estimate then after I bought the carpet and he picked it up, it took them 3 more weeks to get the work started. Then I get a call that he needed to order more carpet as they had not measured correctly. Now it was close to the time that new tenants were to move in and I was at a loss as to what to do as the bulk of the carpet was installed.......supposedly. Finally it is done and my husband went to look at it and found everything out of the kitchen cabinets and stacked on the counters. The cabinets are built in and there was no reason to move them. Also there was a giant hole in the wall, carpet scraps all over and trash and pieces obviously mismatched with lots of seams showing. Unfortunately, I had already paid them. Now a year later it is obvious that the carpet was pieced together in probably 8 places............it is coming up at the seams and looks terrible. The hole in the wall was never fixed as promised and the excuse to the mess was that it was like that and that it costs extra to clean up. I am writing to save someone else the disaster I had. I have had carpet installed previously with out being there. Unfortunately this company is not reliable. Not to mention dishonest and incompetent.
