Interior Design and Decorating
Bill is a very smooth talker. He also does have some good ideas. Bill's problem is that he does not listen. He ignored our budget. He wasted our time looking at upgrades which we could not afford. Then, he asks us could we afford it in another 6 months (! no !).
The first thing Bill purchased was the ceiling fan for $250.00.
After all the time spent and estimates and contractors and so on and so on, the cost would have been around $20K.
We told Bill the whole idea in the beginning was primarily focused on a new floor to replace our worn out carpet.
As it was, we ended up going over budget by about $1500.00. So, for $9K we got a beautiful hardwood oak floor with walnut trim, beautifully painted faux walls in our living room, very nice wallpaper in the living room (faux paint/wallpaper separated by a chair rail), a new oak front door and a ceiling fan that was not installed.
I finally paid an electrician to install this fan in December 2013 - one year later. By the way - the remote control Bill ordered for the ceiling fan was wrong!
I paid a different contractor to repair the water leak damage to the ceiling and paint the living room ceiling in January 2014.
Bill got $2,000.00 for his 'services'.
More than anything else, Bill wasted many hours (multiple trips visiting stores and showrooms for kitchen improvements) of our time looking at things we could not afford.
If you need an interior designer, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
