I don't even know where to start with this guy. My wife hired him to "reglaze" a small shower and sink at a house we are having remodeled. Things started out rocky but we had so many other trades in and out of the house that we didn't focus to much on it. He would be a no show sometimes but there was a lockbox on the house so he could come and go without issue. What was supposed to be a 2-3 day job ended up taking 5-6 business days. Things looked ok when he "finished" although there was still tape on the walls that we were told not to remove. This is where we made our second mistake ( the first being hiring him in the first place) We paid him before the tape was removed. Our painter who's an absolute BOSS removed some of his tape so he could re-mask and spray our bathroom. When the paint was dry he removed his tape and the "glazing" came right off with it. Upon closer inspection, it's obvious that the glazing is VERY thin and transparent in quite a few spots. Especially around the door to the little shower. Up to this point John had been "communicating" with my wife. It's in quotations because 5 or 6 weeks went by of her calling once a week and texting with no response. I finally coerced her into letting me talk to him and things went downhill fast. No matter how i tried (nicely) to explain to him that i didn't feel like the coating he applied had adhered to the tile underneath and this is why it peels off so easily he continued to blame the painter. There is still tape up in the shower and we are searching out other "refinishers" in the valley to fix the mess he left. I told him that when he doesn't return calls, show up when he says he'll be there and won't take accountability for his work it's extremely unprofessional. I was then accused of threatening and bullying. My email is [email protected] if you see this and have any questions about our experience. Don't make the same mistake we did.

When I got the tub back from him I immediately noted three very noticeable flaws in the refinish - one on the inside of the tub, one on the deck of the tub at the end and one on the outside of the tub.
I tried to contact John by phone the next day and received no response from him. One day later I emailed him and received a response saying that the flaw on the inside is not critical to the structural integity of the tub and that I should be able to repair the flaw on the outside myself, he did not respond to the damage on the deck of the tub that appears to be some type of fiber that was stuck in the refinish solution. He stated that he must have missed the errors when they loaded the tub (they are all very prominent).
I emailed him back and asked that he please make all of the repairs. At this point he had been paid in full and I wanted a finished product that was aesthetically pleasing and not just structually sound. The tub was 'structurally sound' when I sent it to him. I asked him to please call me so that we could get this worked out. I got no response from him. My husband called and left him a voicemail as well but he also did not get a response.
I have since emailed him several times asking him to please return my phone calls so that we can get the refinish work completed and he refuses to return my call. I have since had get estimates from other refinishers on the cost of fixing his errors.
