 + -1 moreThe job started well but as soon as I had to leave the country the work stopped and would only resume in fits and starts. The workmanship of around half of the job is adequate but the rest of the job is awful. So many promises from this contractor and almost every job he had control over is going to need to be redone. When the final payment for the work was requested long before the work was done I agreed to part payment. As soon as that was received Mr Charbonneau demanded more money and when that didn't come because it was just the last few thousand dollars of the project Mr Charbonneau screamed at my wife and I and stormed off the site saying that he would not be back because we had not shown him enough appreciation. I would strongly advise others to stay clear of Carling of America or any other company Mr Charbonneau is involved with. It is my opinion that this man will not honor his contract with anyone.
Description of Work: I hired Charbonneau Construction Ltd which is a company run by Daniel Charbonneau. Mr Charbonneau used another company he owns, Carling of America, to purchase materials for my job. The job was a straightforward remodel. Of course remodels come with their fair share of issues but after careful consideration Mr Charbonneau said the work would take 90 days. It was more than one year later when he eventually walked off the job site and refused to return. Because he was in control of Carling of America he stopped a number of tradesmen and suppliers being paid and now, after paying another contractor thousands of dollars to finish the work that was started I still have liens against my property from bills that Mr Charbonneau did not settle despite being paid.
