+ -1 moreAfter a shaky start when he was slow to respond to initial requests for a bid, Chris did a great job. He kept us informed throughout the project, and let us know immediately about any problems that he encountered and how it would affect the costs. His final bill matched his initial bid.
Description of Work: Renovated a bathroom. Removed tile and bathtub, toilet, sink, and countertop. Installed new toilet, shower pan and tile, countertop, and added window and lighting in shower.

+ 0 moreIt was a very frustrating experience just trying to get a quote from Quackenbush Builders. Friends of mine had used him for a remodel in Seaside and were very pleased, but my experience was anything but pleasing. If he cannot get a prompt estimate to a customer how does he expect that he will be trusted to show up and do the work on time?
Description of Work: We are trying to get estimates on adding a shower to a half-bath in my son's 100 year old home. The first time Chris came out he did not even take measurements. After several phone calls he made a return visit and did measure, but then it took another 2 weeks to get an estimate. And this one was just verbal. We are still waiting for something in writing. I don't think I could depend on him to do timely work if this is how he solicits business.

We would highly recommend him to any one needing a full project manager for a major renovation or for a simple small job. He is professional and dedicated and uses reliable subs who do an excellent job. He works long hours and covers any issues that may arise with a calm and professional approach.

+ -1 moreWe wanted the fireplace in time for Christmas - and they pulled through to have it ready for our holidays at the beach. The finish work included not only the fireplace, mantel etc, but also fixing the sheet rock for the vent, and then fixing the baseboard and crown moulding. It looks great.
Description of Work: We had a gas fireplace and surround installed in our living room in our 1907 beach house. Chris and his team built the framework for the gas fireplace, installed, and did the finish and trim including custom mantel. Not only does it look great, but it looks like it has always been there in the house. Very impressive.

Description of Work: We started with a pipe leak in our 100 year old home in Seaside which destoryed much of our kitchen. I asked around to a couple of friends in the area (home owner and realtor) - both recommended Chris Quakenbush. Quakenbush team repaired our kitchen to better than new: replaced tongue & groove ceiling, all trim & moulding, kitchen cabinets. They also added bathroom fans (didn't exist in 100 year old bathrooms) that are installed awesome - look perfect, work perfect. His team are very friendly, professional, courteous, and great to work with. I will definately bring them back for other home projects that I need done (replacing all windows is next on my list). These guys are great - highly recommend them!
