Brett came to my door and said he hadn't looked at his email (5 days?)..........his stories kept changing.........the shading of the backyard?......he now said maybe in 20 yrs.....and he argued with me. Several times he lied and if the tree dies next year, there will be legal action. They didn't even let me know before "when" it was to be cut.........because I said it wasn't to be cut. I found this company to be very dishonest and was very upset by their actions. The tree was very healthy and disease free.....I am a 21 yr cetified Master Gardener.............Oh, and no professionalism in dealing with them. He kept saying if I didn't let him cut it down, he would cut off the back of it and it would be very ugly....that's when I told him he was legally responsible if his actions kill the tree.

I want to start out by saying that this team was beyond great! Starting with Bret who has a passion for trees and really knows his stuff. He knew what all of the trees and even this portugese laurel. He really cares about the trees.
His team was amazing! I was worried that the Hemlock could not be saved. I had been told by another tree service guy that removing it was the best solution. And the guy who took care of it made it look effortless. The team surpassed my expectations and I cannot say how pleased I am with the results. And the price was very reasonable given all the work they did.
This is now my go-to tree service team. I highly recommend them.

We own an older house with seven old oaks on the property, including one which is two hundred years old and on the historic tree
register. We needed the deadwood removed and the trees trimmed. We had several tree specialists and arborists come by and quote on the job. We chose Rand B Tree Service because:

1. 1. Brett and Rob both spent several hours analyzing our trees and explaining the condition of our trees to us
2. 2. They recommended what should be done, as well as telling us which jobs could be put off until later

3. They were flexible and accommodating
4. The estimate was competitive
5. They obviously love trees, and educated us on how we could better care for our trees.
Brett, Rob, and the crew of 3 came by today as scheduled, right on time, and worked hard all day – despite some terrible weather. They are an efficient, knowledgeable and skilled group of guys, all of whom understand trees and how to care for them (and all of whom have worked with Rand B for years). They removed some giant limbs, but were careful about safety and protecting our property and themselves from harm.
We are very happy with the job they did. The trees are all pruned beautifully and now look healthier and better. They cleaned up every bit of wood, moss, and bark. Actually, the yard looks cleaner now than it did when they arrived!
We will hire Rand B Tree Service again and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for tree services.

Brett and his team of three are very professional people to have caring for the stand of trees surrounding your home of 52 years. They are the hardest working group. There is no tree too tall or too big for these guys. AND they leave the grounds cleared of all debris. A good job well done again. This is the second time I have used R and B Tree Services, Inc. Originally they were in our neighborhood to work on a nearby property. They spent a couple of hours with us assessing the state of our trees. When the estimate ran higher than what we wanted to spend, they were quite amenable to reducing what they took on to fit within our budget. They arrived at promptly at 8 AM and were here until after 5 PM. They chipped a huge quantity of trimmings and gave us the option of keeping the chipped wood or having them haul it away. Definitely would work with them again.

They were punctual, performed the work quickly and professionally. Excellent clean up. They walked me through the work and didn't leave until I gave my ok

Removed a transmitter from way up in a Doug fir tree at no extra charge.

About one-third of a neighbor's big willow tree broke off and laid over onto my roof. I called Rand B, and Rick was there in short order.
He gave me a reasonable bid, I accepted, and he was back with the crew within the hour. Rick and one helper worked on the steep roof to cut it up, and while avoiding near-by power lines, dropped the pieces to the helper below who ran them through the chipper. They got the job done quickly and professionally. Rick checked the roof for damage (and fortunately found none). They left the area clean. Even the neighbor was happy as Rick made sure her tree was left with a clean cut.

After 5 years our trees had grown tall enough that we were losing our spectacular view,. Our property sits 950 feet above the street below and the back of our entire house is glass. Obviously maintaining the view is important, but we also love the nature like setting. that the trees provide. For us, although most of the trees were cotton wood, topping or removing them was not an option. Dilemma. In addition, we learned that Lake Oswego is very, very strict regarding tree codes, so we needed someone that was responsible enough to stay within those codes. Bigger Dilemma. Although we interviewed 3 arborists, it didn't take long before all roads led us to R and B Tree Service. The moment we met Ray, the owner, we knew we had the right person. He showed up exactly on time, and looked very professional He listened to what we were wanting to accomplish, AND it turned out that he is 1 of 2 arborists that Lake Oswego contracts with, so obviously he knew how to stay within their guidelines. He gave us an excellent bid, his crew showed up at the appointed time and immediately began working, climbing trees and cutting and removing the branches. Each day Ray stopped by to make sure that we were happy with the progress and in fact saw that some additional branches needed to be trimmed which he included in the original bid. Once again the view is spectacular and the trees look healthy.. Dilemmas solved! I highly recommend that you contact Ray at R and B Tree Service. We are more than happy with his service, price, communication, knowledge and professionalism. You will be too

I agreed to have him do the work for $600 total, which was a mistake on my part. But I was impatient and didn't want to take the time to get other quotes, so I have to take the responsibility for paying more than I think the job was worth. I thought it would entail much more work than it did and $600 didn't sound too bad. They were finished in about an hour. They did good work, cleaned up well and were very knowledgeable, but it certainly wasn't worth what I paid for it. I might consider using them again, but if I did, I'd be sure to get at least 2 more quotes next time.

removed 15 Fir Trees. 2 were huge, and close to house. the guys that did the work were really good. The owner Brett, after i agreed to the job, and the men were there ready to get started, he wanted to renege on the bid, and kept trying to up the price, and do more work for more money. it was a big hassle. kept trying to get me to agree to more work, more money. when they were almost done with the original job, i finally told him NO. I'm only going to do what was bid on and only paying the 2600. So he pulled his men, and they left a bunch of branches unchipped. didn't cut the tree stumps down to the ground, they are all sticking up about 4 feet.

Used Angie's list to look for a stump grinder. We found one in our area and called for an estimate. Someone stopped by with the equipment and when the estimate given was reasonable we had them do the work on the spot. Work and cleanup was to our satisfaction and we definitely would call them again if the need arises.

It went great! Brett came over and did a very thorough job of explaining everything he thought we needed. He was informative without being pushy. He seems very knowladgeable about trees. He and his team did a great job. A few things standout. 1) They did a complete job of cleaning up after. There were no chips or debirs left around. 2) We have an ornery older neighbor who didn;t want the stump grinder moved through his yard. Brett's guys didn't raise a stink and instead hoiseted it up a flight of stairs (a stump grinder is not made to be hoisted up stairs) All in all I would 100% recomend Rand B. I feel I got my money's worth plus. -dan

Overall, it went very well. They came when they said they would. The did a great job of cleaning up. The trees are thinned so that they can grow, but they look nice and not "stumpy". The fir trees have been pruned away from the house and 2nd story roof.

The team of two arrived ten minutes early and cut about 1/2 cord of wood in about 40 minutes, including stacking and cleanup.
