I now have a trusted plumber!!! A friend in commercial building recommended two plumbers to me and Jerry Brown was one. He was quick to return my call and easy-going about scheduling a consultation to suit my crazy work schedule. Of those who bid for my work, Jerry was the only one who got down in the crawlspace to actually see what was needed. He reviewed what I wanted done and suggested addressing the pex sizing and insulation problems. He was not pushy with any of his suggestions, but took the time to explain the benefits of addressing the problems. I let him know the items I wanted done and a day I had a quote in hand.
On the work day, Jerry showed up about 10 minutes early and immediately got to work performing inside tasks first while his clothes were clean, and then moving to the crawlspace work. He alerted me to a small leak at the base of the existing bathroom's toilet and fixed that too. By day's end, all the work was completed and in full working order with no messes left anywhere.
While all his work revolved around the plumbing of the new addition (except for the toilet leak), afterward he discussed with me the plumbing in the original part of the house built in the 1940s. He recommended in time I consider running new lines as the old galvanized lines were most likely constricted with mineral buildup. New lines would improve water pressure. He has since provided a quote for that work and when finances allow, I will pursue it.
