Once the crew arrived things proceeded quickly and incredibly well. The crew called to request another team member when the tree proved to be much larger and more complicated than the bid price had indicated. The work got underway, with initial planning and prep, and the new crew member arrived in good time. We watched and documented the whole removal - which was fascinating and so well orchestrated that it was truly educational. The tree climber/saw man, Colton, was so skilled with his cuts, rope placement, and understanding of physics that every branch came down in the small cleared area of my neighbor's yard as planned. Each one was brought to exactly where he wanted it (slowly, lowered by winch and ropes - no crashing wild branches). The ground crew was fully attentive to Colton's safety and supported him through each cut, rope placement, and their role in levering the branches with ropes was also key. They were a very good team, communicating and ensuring it went well every step of the way. They were agreeable to our covering my neighbor's pathway and hardscape with tarps to limit the disturbance of dragging branches across the hardscape. They ground up the branches we didn't want, and saved a couple lovely ones for me to use. The entire removal and clean-up took 3.5 hours start to finish. The crew took one very short break and otherwise worked steady and hard the whole time. They were nice guys, respectful, and pleasant to have in our yard. They left the area clean and the wood ready to be split and stacked. I would definitely have Rich's come and remove any trees in the future. It is rare to see such a competent and skillfully confident team. We knew we were in really good hands. It was hard to lose our huge old tree, but Rich's made it so smooth that once they got started we quit worrying and really enjoyed watching it happen.

My first contact was for an estimate on the removal of a large maple. Within 2 days the estimate was provided with options between removal and additional stump grinding. The price was competitive and when Rich's was contacted for an appointment 2 options were provided. One to schedule an appointment or be put on a filler list which was 7-10 days out. The choice was to be put on the filler list and when 10 days went by Rich's was contacted and the completion of the job was extended through the that week. That week passed and I contacted Rich's again and was given the date of "tomorow" (October 26th). Their team arrived as promised with 3 vehicles, introduced themselves, and went right to work. The property was assessed to determine the best location and process which will be used to down the tree. My property allowed plenty of room to down the tree without the worry of electrical lines, homes, fences or other possible hazzards. In very little time and one loud "crack" the tree landed and then the manual labor began. The whole process took about 2 hours and they even cleaned up the leaves. Upon leaving they provided ideas on storing the wood, the best time to split it and even cut 3 small trees (4"-6" trunk) without charge. I will definitely call them again but will make an appointment next time.

Rich came by, was very nice and insightful. The guys showed up on time, were very thorough, and cleaned up nicely. Price was very reasonable. There experience is worth every cent.

I had a beautiful birch tree that was sadly leaning ever closer to my shed. I called my regular tree guy to have it removed but he said I needed to find a company that could remove tall trees. Enter Rich's Tree Service. After getting three bids I chose Rich's and they performed flawlessly. They cut the wood into firewood size, chipped all the small branches and hauled them away, and cut the stump off flush with the ground as requested, and left the site as clean as possible after such a big job.

A crew of three came out in a timely manner. One young man was up very high in the tree. He was extremely careful when he cut a large branch, at least one foot in diameter . There isn't any lawn in the backyard, just a deck and pavers near the house and mounds of plants just under the problem branch. Not one plant was damaged, and the crew left the back yard clean. There is now at least a ten-foot clearance between the roof and branches. The result exceeded my expectations. This is not the first time I have used this tree service. Each time a crew has come out and done a stellar job. Nothing is ever damaged and everything is cleaned up.

Estimate was timely, appointment made two days out. Rich was very professional and friendly. Crew came within a few days and were thorough with removal and clean up. Stump was ground the following day when I was not home, leaving a big pile of sawdust. Office called a week later to see if I was satisfied. I would definitely recommend this company.

I called for an estimate on a Wednesday and Rich arrived on Friday as promised. He gave me an estimate that was about 1/3 of what another tree service company had quoted me. On Saturday I called and left a message that I would like them to do the work sometime the following week. On Monday morning I received a call back that they could schedule the work to be done on Wednesday. They arrived Wednesday in a rain storm but did the work in spite of the conditions. They dropped the trees without doing damage to my fence or home. The workmen were polite and professional and did an excellent job. I will definitely call them again if I need tree work done.

Excellent from start to finish. My yard looks so much better. I did not realize they would need to check for utilities, and I appreciate the careful job they did. A plus.

Left a message for them but no one returned my call. Solicited two other bids and selected a different service.

I got a quote on how much it would cost to trim some of my plants but I didn't want to pay the price. I thought the stump removal was a good deal for the service. The technician took out the stump quickly and he did it well.

The experience was really excellent. The evaluation was practical and thorough. The arborist performed the evaluation and someone else under his direction pruned the trees.

Scheduling was the hardest part. I knew the date Rich would arrive to bid the job but not the time - had to stay at home waiting. Then he called, said he would be here in 30 minutes - and instead was at the door in less than 10 minutes. After we accepted his bid, we didn't know when they would show up to take the tree down - no way to notify neighbors about parking near the tree. The crew showed up mid morning several days after we accepted the bid. I got the impression they had no idea what problems the street presented. However, despite having to work around parked cars in the street and on a blind curve, they had the tree down, branches chipped, wood cut to fireplace length, and the area cleaned up in about 40 minutes - very fast and competent. Then we had to wait another few days for someone else to come and grind out the stump. He too was quick and competent.

The lady that took my call was very informative and put me at ease immediately. (Calling for estimates is nothing I enjoy.) Rich came out the very next day and was very professional. He gave me information about the company along with a Consumer Protection Notice and there was no pressure. I felt at ease immediately about this company and hired them on the spot. They did a great job and cleaned up everything. I'm very happy I hired them and would absolutely do so again.

This is the second time that I have used them to cut down a big tree. They do a good job.

The estimator came out and was very helpful as we discussed what needed to be done. They scheduled me about 2 weeks later. The work went well for the most part. They were professional, knowledgeable, and worked well. They had to quit early on the first day and left the debris scattered in the yard until they returned 6 days later. When they completed the job, they cleaned up well.

They were prompt. They did good work and were very cautious. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves and charged what they estimated.

Went well, I posted an inquiry on their web site and had a quote the next day. The following week when I scheduled to have the tree taken down, they were able to come the next day and were in and out in about an hour and a half.

Rich came out very soon after first call and looked over trees and provided an estimate. A date was set for the work and the crew came promptly. There were several trucks with equipment and at least 6 workers. The work was done very professionally and quickly with everything cleaned up afterward.

They followed up on their work and did some more trimming of the trees upon our request. They did a very acceptable job. In searching for contractors for this type of work any homeowner should compare bids they receive with a bid from Rich's Tree Service. They were the lowest bid we received on the work. They did a terrific job. They were easy to communicate with and were very courteous when doing their work.

Very efficient and had very good equipment. Their timing was excellent.

They done GREAT!!! They showed up on time with a crew that obviously was experienced and used to working together as a team. One guy climbed and cut, 2 guys hauled the branches to the fourth guy running the chipper. I expected it to take a couple of days, but both trees were down in less than 4 hours. It took about 2 days to find someone to take the rounds away for firewood. They came back after the rounds were gone to grind the stumps, which (again) took about half the time I expected it to take. They used the latest in Hi-Tech equipment, including a remote-controlled stump grinder that was fun to watch.

No problems with company. They show up per schedule and always leave a note with their invoice explaining what they did each time. Patti is Rich's rep who always does our yard and she does a great job. One bonus is Rich's does not require any sort of annual contract and their are no penalties is you cancel service.

My brother was there. I was at work. One knock is that they didn't have a saw long enough to go through the stump. There was a jagged part in the middle of the stump where it looked as if the trunk was pushed over. I've got a big indention in my backyard where the tree fell. Clean-up was decent. They took the big branches away, but left sawdust. Contractor for the stump grinding was OK. There was a lot of saw dust left after the stump grinding than I was told there would be. I do mean a lot. Overall, my experience with Rich's Tree Service was pretty good. They did call me to inform me about shutting down my computer and other appliances in the house, just in case a branch above the power line feed to my house got struck. Explained to me what they would do if that happened. Would hire again, and know to ask about removal of some of the debris left from the stump grinding.
