Evergreen Roofing of Oregon

.It started with the estimate. I discussed with the estimator what needed to be done. They put me in the que for roofing. I did have to wait for about two months because of the backlog and bad weather. When the job started, it was done in two days. They came back on a third day for an hour or so to make sure that everything was cleaned up.

When we realized that a couple of shingles on our roof had come loose in the wind, I called Evergreen since they had replaced the roof 15 years ago. Unfortunately, they were under intense pressure to finish much larger jobs before the end of the season. After about 4 weeks they sent a repairman to replace the shingles and inspect the roof for any additional problems. I appreciate the fact that they have limited resources to deal with small repairs, but I found that unsettling and will influence my next roof project. Overall they did a good job at a reasonable price. Luckily it didn't rain while we were waiting for the repair.

We scheduled a new roof with Evergreen Roofing because their bid was the best for us and on Angie's list they had a good report. They were able to get to our roof at least a month earlier than they thought. 10 guys showed up, trying to beat some expected rain. They all worked hard, they were all polite and professional and did a fantastic job. What a great experience. I would (and do) recommend them to anyone.

They said we didnt need a new roof. I thought that it was very honest of them to tell us that.

I refer them to my clients all the time. I like their honesty, workmanship and affordability. They've been around for a long time and they are my favorites.

I called the Evergreen Company and within a few days, as promised, a representative came out to inspect our roof and give us a description of what was to be done and an estimate. The rep was courteous, well spoken, and highly experienced. We signed a contract to have the work done and are now awaiting the weather to permit starting the roof covering. When the job was completed I felt like family was leaving as these folks were friendly and very knowledgeable in their field.

Evergreen estimator came out in February arrived on time, and was very professional and nice. E-mailed me an estimate that afternoon. Due to the weather being bad the roof was not done until May, but I expected that, as we had a stormy winter, and Evergreen informed me that it would be a couple of months before the new roof could be done. Roofing crew arrived bright and early on the scheduled day, removed old roof on house and garage the first day. They had to also tear off a pitched overframe addition on the back side of the house, they had a lot of work to do, and did it quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up the whole area before leaving for the day.Crew arrived on the second day bright and early, and completed the work. The house and garage look great, could not have asked for better. Highly recommend this company, they are quick, professional, and know what they are doing.

Work crews were quick and efficient. Cleaned up after job each day. Finished on time.

Had numerous roof leaks, after a very heavy rainfall. Called on Friday knowing that they would be swamped with calls, they were very nice and told me they would work me in as soon as they could the following week, by 9am Monday morning, the workers were at my house, getting the information they needed from me to repair the leaks. The workers were very professional, worked quickly, and asked whenever they had questions.They did the repairs, and informed me that my roof is in bad shape and would need to bereplaced when I can. I would hire this company again anytime.

If you don't know who to call for your roofing job call Evergreen Roofing. I took several bids to reroof my vintage house and detached garage. The minute I met estimator and architect Eric Baker I was instantly reassured. He understood my old house, answered my questions, discussed details and returned an estimate quickly. I had meant to call during the Spring for a Summer reroof but it took me until mid-August and they were booked. The weather had been wacky so we were going to try for an October start date. It wasn't looking good. I called Andy--Evergreen's scheduler and weather swami--in November thinking I'd have to reschedule for next Spring but he said they could start in two days. The weather was partly sunny and perfect! John and Jose showed up on time and the crew immediately set up scaffolding around my home to protect my landscaping. A large crew of hardworking men completed the tear down and had the waterproof underlayment on the first day. They manually hauled out debris as my yard didn't have access.for the dump truck. They left the yard spotless! I was a little disappointed on Day 2 when the same hardworking crew didn't show up but John and Jose worked diligently above and beyond. By afternoon rockstars Greg and Tim showed up and completed a huge amount of work in a short time. The entire job was done in 4 days. Not only are they fast, but these Evergreen guys care about the quality of their work and about doing it right! Everyone I encountered from the tear-off crew to the gentlemen who masterfully operated the boom around big trees and delivered new shingles to my rooftop were friendly and professional. And to top it off--the day after the job was complete another Evergreen person showed up to check the job and make sure everything was satisfactory and that the grounds were clean. He even carried a bucket and picked up small debris and ran an electromagnet around the perimeter to pick up any stray nails. I paid more for my roof but it was worth it to know it was done right and that if there ever was a problem Evergreen would stand behind their work. My new roof looks great and my house is happy! I bought this house in 2009 knowing the roof needed to be re-singled. The previous owner had incorrectly installed 3-tab himself over the old leaky roof. When I was buying the house, I got estimates from River Roofing and Evergreen and one other place. They were all around $4400 to $5200. I negotiated the repairs into the price but then I put off getting it done. I had River Roofing come out and reroof a carport only because they had the lowest estimate. You read my review of them. They did a good enough job but they didn't give me what I wanted because they didn't communicate well with me. Fast forward to Feb 2011 and in a heavy rain water just starts streaming down the picture window in the living room. I find evidence of a leak around one of the dormers. We had to wait until we received our tax return to have enough money. I happened to be in the middle of my student teaching, which means I was extremely busy teaching all day at a public school and going to classes at night, but not being paid. I didn't have a lot of time to to deal with it. When the tax return check came, I called Evergreen, River and Huey and Sons. It was after I got out of school on a Friday. I never heard back from Huey. River called me back with a message saying when their business hours are and to please call back then. Evergreen called me back and said they still had my old estimate from 2009 in their system and if I wanted they would update it for me and mail it to me. So I left them another message saying yes send it to me. Because I was so busy, I never got around to calling River. In a couple of days, I got an estimate in the mail and the price hadn't changed at all in two years. They still quoted me $4380 for the whole job. So now I was twice impressed. First that they got back to my after hours message, and second that they kept to their same estimate. So I put the estimate in my car to remind me to go by their shop as soon as I could. I headed over there just before 5, but they had already closed. I got out of my car anyway because they had some roofing tiles on display and I thought maybe I could pick one out and just let them know. Then this guy walks out of the warehouse heading to his truck with a lunch box in hand. He sees me and comes over and asks if he can help me. I can see that he has worked hard all day but he takes time to talk to me and I show him a piece of the 3-tab on my house that I brought with me. He tells me there's a guy that works in the warehouse and that he can help me. He takes me back there and then this other guy is just as outgoingly helpful. He shows me some of what they have stocked and recommends a certain color. He also tells me that one of their suppliers is in a nearby warehouse and that they stay open later. I can go check out their display and pick what I want. So by now I am completely charmed and remembering how the poor the communicate was from River Roofing, I decide to definitely go with Evergreen. On a furlough day, I went in to their office and the receptionist was very friendly. I signed off on the contract and I asked about what happens if they find dry rot. She told me they would call me and quote how much more it would cost before they do anything. She said it might take a month before they could schedule me in. It was spring and I expected that. But then I got a call saying they had an opening and they came much sooner than expected. The guys were very courteous and professional. They took great care around our vegetable gardens and did a good job of cleaning up. They ordered new custom flashing to go around the skylights. I got a call while I was at work saying they did find dry rot and that it would be an additional $500. That was lower than I was expecting. When I got home they were still there working on it. I asked one of the workers about the dry rot and he told me they to replace the shoddy work of of someone who had already tried to repair some leaks but didn't do it properly. I could tell that it was a lot of extra work and I worried that the $500 estimate wouldn't really cover it. The workers worked two long days and pushed to try to get it done but at the end of the second day, they came and apologized to me saying they would have to come back in the afternoon the third day to finish it up. I didn't think apologies were necessary. They finished it up as promised the next day and left us with a great looking new roof, clean gutters, new vents and flashing. I couldn't have been happier. About a week later, the bill came and it was just exactly as quoted. I was happy to write them that check. I'm just sorry I couldn't find time to brag about them sooner here on Angie's list. I would go out of my way to recommend Evergreen Roofing.

They called one morning, said they could come and get started, arrived a couple of hours later and got to work. They removed the old roof and papered the first day, then came and shingled the next. They also cleaned everything up and did a great job. What more can you ask for?

I'm very impressed.What normally would have been a 2 day job for the actual re-roofing was done in one day.They tore off the old 2 layers of asphalt and felt, replaced the rotted board,and t-11 on the chase, and cleaned the gutters. The next week we had a week of rain,and for the first time in years I heard what my gutters were supposed to do,move water! Sarah,l Andy and Eric are the best! It did take more time than expected for the metal cap on the chimney to be fabricated, but it was done quickly and even painted to match my siding.I did re-paint the bare wood that was replaced,but that was what was to be expected,and I wanted to do myself.One of our neighbors asked who did the work, as it really looks good, and they were in and out the same day.I highly recommend Evergreen Roofing!!

Crew arrived on time all six of them and they worked non stop in an efficient, quiet and respectful manner. No loud noise or shouting was heard from any of them. They were organized and their crew manager seemed to control the work flow well. They paid attention to detail nicely and gave the roof and hedges a nice finish.

I made an appointment for someone to come and fix my vents, but when they didn't show up I called and someone came much later who was there to only give an estimate. I was dealing with my father in the hospital, work and a leaking roof around 2 vents. When I got the bill I went to the office to pay and they don't accept credit cards. I had to return later to pay by check.

They were prompt, courteous and did what they promised to do. They were great.

They gave me an estimate in a timely and everything seems to be going well.

They did my current residence roof last year and did an excellent job. I again got bids, and theirs was the most competitive. The roof looks great, and I am well pleased.

I spent $6,000 for that job, which was a good price. My interaction with them was excellent. They were very efficient and did a very good job. Overall I had a very good interaction with them. I would highly recommend them to other members. The salesman was very courteous and he answered all my questions, and it was a nice experience.

Great. They showed up on time even though it was 20 degrees. They honored their original bid even tough it was a more complicated job than they projected.

They were great and did an excellent work for us. They were professional, prompt and very friendly.

Roofing removal and the carpentry work went great. Second day, the new composition shingles were delivered at 8:00 am by their supplier, crew showed up at noon (they had a prior job to finish), put one nail in roof, removed it, then left. Never said a word to me. At 1:30pm I called their office and was told they had to return to shop to get shorter nails, but were coming back that afternoon. At 2:30pm, I called their office again and spoke with one of the managers who said they were definately coming back and went on to tell me how good of workers they were. At 3:30pm I called their office a third time and spoke with the same manager who reassured me that even though the crew wanted to call it a day, that he had told them they *had* to return and at least start on the job. Shortly after 4:00pm the same crew arrived and worked until after 7:00pm, completing the shop roofing. Crew arrived the next morning (Saturday) and completed work on house. Even though estimate indicated that the satellite dish would need to be re-aimed, the crew was able to reinstall it and no re-aiming was necessary. Communications with the roofing crew was unsatisfactory, but the job was done well. Invoice for work has not been received yet, but I do not expect the invoice to vary significantly from the estimate.

They did a very good job. They were real careful about putting the roof on during the rainy season. They protected it with tarp and were super fast about doing it. They also cleaned up after the work was done. The roof looks great and we would recommend them.

We put out for estimates in November and Evergreen gave the lowest bid and was willing to do just the patch job. Other companies wanted to do the whole roof. Evergreen also agreed to write a report upon completion that we could issue to the lender. Twice they said they would come out to take a look and they never showed. We had to keep calling them. Finally, we scheduled the work while tenants were away. Two guys showed up late in the day and got started with the tear out and then left saying they needed more materials. They didn't come back that day or the next. Finally, they came back on the day the tenants were arriving. They banged out the new shingles pretty quick, but I was really annoyed that they let the scheduled time slip by and didn't even communicate with us about it. They were not friendly nor were they all that professional. They were yelling back and forth to another roofer on a roof down the block. Then we really had to do a lot of calling back and forth to get the report for the lender. Actually, in the end, we just wrote the report ourselves and had the contractor sign it. We were kind of in a bind because we didn't find any other licensed roofer who was willing to do this for us. I am grateful that they were willing to help us out. But because of the way it all went down, I don't think I would go back to this roofer again.

The company provided an estimate, then came to do the job within three days, and billed when the job was done.
