Phil did an excellent job. I had many preferences and he listened and worked with all of them to deliver what I requested. His price was very reasonable for custom cabs delivered and installed pre painted. Phil is polite and clever creating a solution for my pots and pans cupboard; his holds many more pots and pans than the hardware available online.

Very well. Beautiful result. Cabinets are perfect ! He made pull out drawers, and added a hanging file. Love the pretty wood, inside and he custom designed the cabinet doors to match our kitchen,

Phil (the owner), is easy to work with and very responsive. I was able to show pictures of my vision, and Phil worked with me to make sure the final product he would be delivering would be what I wanted. I got quotes from many people before starting; Quote's from Johnston's Cabinetry were mid-range, but we felt the quality we would be getting would be worth it. We ended up with a high quality, beautiful product, and I highly recommend Johnston's Cabinetry and will be using them again for future projects.

Work was completed according to plan with excellent quality and no problems. Phil was professional and easy to work with throughout, and was very helpful in discussing design details and advising on wood choice (we decided on maple rather than cherry). We got quotes from half a dozen cabinet makers. Johnston's Cabinetry's was not the cheapest (nor was it the most expensive), and required some schedule delay, but we thought it worth the delay to get better quality and are glad we waited. We highly recommend Johnston's Cabinetry and will be glad to hire again for any suitable future projects.

We had an amazing kitchen guy who retired after our last kitchen remodel (previous house), and he pretty much designed the kitchen himself, so we were really frightened to have to find a new kitchen cabinet guy! What an amazing surprise to find Phil- he was able to work with us to lay out a kitchen according to our needs, made modifications as needed, and we now have this amazing...REALLY amazing and beautiful kitchen! It's highly functional and the woodwork is fine craftsmanship- everything is wood (drawers, boxes, etc), very solid and very well built. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him for anyone seeking cabinets!

We cannot imagine doing our recent kitchen remodel without Phil of Johnston's Cabinetry. Phil did a fantastic job of building beautiful custom cherry cabinets at a very fair price. He listened carefully to our ideas and needs, made excellent suggestions to improve functionality, and built each cabinet to the agreed upon specifications. Phil's patience, problem solving skills and attention to detail were especially apparent during installation when he discovered irregularities in the walls and floors. He addressed each issue carefully and methodically and we now have the kitchen of our dreams thanks to his efforts. Phil has not only high standards for his work but also demonstrates a refreshing level of personal integrity. When another tradesman discovered a minor installation issue, Phil jumped in his truck and came right over to fix the problem. His comment was "if I broke it, I want to fix it." Great, cabinet turned out even nicer than I'd hoped

The work went really well and as expected. Phil was amazing through the whole process. We are a family with children and spent some of the time living in complete chaos so my stress level was pretty high at times. Phil was a pleasure for me. He showed up on time, when he said he would and he had everything taken care of. Luckily we took a vacation toward the end of the project (nice to escape the dust and renovation mess) and once again Phil was brilliant. He made sure he kept to his schedule, worked with my contractor and even went above and beyond when a couple of small issues came up - I changed a part of the plan right at the last minute and our downdraft packed up a few weeks after the kitchen was completed. We got a new unit but the cabinets didn't fit. Phil came right over and took care of them and they are now just perfect. Phil even checked in on us again after the kitchen was complete just to make sure we were still happy with everything. I LOVE MY NEW KITCHEN... I will certainly use Phil again. Phil is pretty special, if you show him a picture of what you want, he can build it!!

We hired Phil to build a custom double desk unit for our home office. I had looked around for standing desks that looked nice and integrated with other office units and didn't find anything so, decided to go custom. We got three bids for the job. I
could tell from my early interactions with Phil that he was dependable, responsive, and fair. We decided to go with him based on this first impression as well as his competitive bid. As we moved forward with the project, it was more of the same great "customer service". He always showed up for our appointments on time (if not a few minutes early) and followed up with the
items he said he would. We went back and forth several times on details for our office unit and he kept track of all the specifics. I really appreciated his patience and follow-through. The installation went very smoothly. We had purchased the drawer pulls for the unit on our own and as it turned out didn't have the correct length screws. So, Phil made a quick trip to the hardware store to pick up the right length and returned to finish up the job. The unit turned out fantastic - it's a corner unit standing desk with a standard height desk on one side and double lateral file unit on the other. This way we have the option to sit or stand at two different work spaces. We looked all over before choosing to go with Phil for this job and his work is so much better than all the options we looked at. His craftsmanship is top notch. We're thrilled!  

Mr. Johnston responded promptly after reaching out to him from Angie's List.  We talked on the phone and I gave him an overview of the vanity we were looking for and we set up a time for him to come look at the space.  He provided references, which I followed up on before our meeting, who gave him a glowing report, speaking to his timeliness of keeping appointments and craftsmanship. Mr. Johnston and I discussed the project in more detail at our meeting, he offered a few suggestions, and he provided a bid.  He had pictures of his current project he was working on and they were beautiful.  Once our small project was underway, he called to suggest a door change, which we did, and discuss hardware.  He was very thorough and thought out the cabinet in detail and COMMUNICATED it very well!  The cabinet was installed and was exactly what had been discussed,and we love it.  Out of all the contractors that worked on our tiny bath remodel, Mr. Johnston was the only one who listened, communicated, and came through!  Definitely would use him again and have already recommended to a friend.

Phil had done a library for me previously and I knew he would do a terrific job in designing a new kitchen for our home.  When my husband and I purchased our condo, the kitchen was hopelessly outdated.  Since the space was a bit irregular I knew that conventional box store cabinets could not possibly work. We knew the cabinets would need to be built custom.   Once again I called Phil.  I had designed the general layout of the space, where the stove, refrigerator, dishwasher etc. went, but Phil took the general concept and turned it into a most workable functional kitchen.  It has far more storage than the old kitchen and the position of the cabinets and drawers make it absolutely a joy to work in.  Since the kitchen was custom I could design any cabinet front.  I picked a very clean flat door with flat hardware.  Phil sent away for the custom handles which were the perfect style for the kitchen.  Just as in the library, the installation went extremely well and was finished in just a few days.  In the middle of the process I decided to add a walk in pantry. Once again Phil designed the perfect floor to ceiling open shelving to fit the space.  Phil is an outstanding cabinet maker but he is so much more.  He has a wonderful eye for design, listens to the customer, and has excellent follow through and communication skills as well as being extremely easy to get along with. As an interior designer, I appreciate all those qualities in contractors I hire.  But most importantly I can trust the quality of the product and the installation I will receive from Johnston’ Cabinetry.

We had a small alcove in our front room area.  Not big enough for any large furniture but perfect for a small library.  I asked Phil to come and look at the space.  He suggested designing floor to ceiling bookcases with crown molding.  His proportions on the bookcases were absolutely right on.  Each section was perfectly measured and in keeping with the small alcove.  The installation went extremely well even though there were a few tricky corners.  Of course the walls and ceiling were not level but Phil was able to line up everything perfectly.  The crown molding was the finishing touch to a great space. It looks as if the library was always part of the house!  I couldn?t recommend Phil more highly.  He is patient, listens to your wants and then executes a truly finished product.
 

They did a fabulous job.  The whole experience was so wonderful.  He did an bsolutely beautiful job, building bamboo cabinets at a reasonable price.

Phil is the owner of Johston's cabinentry and it was very nice to work with him from start to beginning on the project instead of having multiple contacts and multiple numbers to remember.   He is flexible and easy to work with.   He was able to accomodate my schedule and get the work done in a timely fashion.   Phil is also easy to get ahold of.  He will call you back in a timely fashion if he is unable to take your call.   He is trustworthy, polite, and a hard worker and I was comfortable enough to leave him a key to the house so he could work on the project without us there.   I recommend anyone in need of cabinents to give Johnston's Cabinentry a call.

He came. He measured. We talked and I told him what I wanted...specifically a mantel and bookcase to either side of the fireplace and a floor to ceiling bookcase in the bedroom. He showed me examples and we talked some more.  We agreed. Less than two weeks later he delivered and installed exactly what I wanted. The quality and workmanship are very fine. I would use this man again in a heartbeat.

I would highly recommend these guys & plan to use them for another projects. We had a tight budget, every step of the way Phil gave us options to reduce costs.  

The other thing that really impressed us was when we had a change order we felt his prices were extremely fair & reasonable.  

I gave Phil the names & phone numbers of other sub's, so when there was a question about schedule or installation details, I didn't need to be involved. . .Phil just made it happen. 

We appreciated the fact that they are a smaller company & I was able to work with the same contact each step of the way from planning through completion. We experienced superior customer service, regular communication, & on time delivery of a quality product.  As a result, the entire experience was collaborative.
