Willie and his team did an excellent job. They left the place immaculate and the floors are beautiful. Willie was fun to work with and explained the process very well. The floors look brand new!

I can't say enough about the quality and service we received from Willie Bridgeman. He strives to make sure all questions are answered and all situations addressed. He told us our floors in our 80-year old house will look like new. We didn't believe him, and just thought he was a good salesman. We were wrong...our floors looked brand new...not refinished...BRAND NEW! He knows his business and can work his magic for you, too. He is the best and I wish he lived in Portland so my daughter could use him too! he has our 110% positive recommendation. --Jim & Cindy Hinton

I was very worried about refinishing floors but it was all for naught. Not only did they do a fantastic job, but they made me feel comfortable and confident in the work. Very friendly, attentive and professional. Thank you!

I had a great deal of confidence in Willie after he came out and gave me a quote.  I was able to schedule the service for the following week, so I was happy he was able to get to it right away.  They showed up at around 7:30 or 8:00 AM every morning and worked until I presume about 4 or 5 PM.  I was at work during these hours.  They work in such a way that regardless of where the wood floor is in your house, you can always enter and exit the home after they are finished with their work for the day, which was really nice.  They put up plastic to protect everything from dust, such as heaters, picture frames, doorways to other rooms, etc.  They took off all the baseboard trim so that they could sand as close to the drywall as possible.  Years ago when I first moved into the house, I hired an inexperienced contractor to sand just the dining room floor, and he left drum sander marks on the floor.  Willie was able to remove the drum sander marks from the floor!  I am truly impressed.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Willie was fantastic to work with.  He was extremely thorough and completed the project on time.  Floors look brand new.
Only cautionary tale would be, if you are redoing your hardwood floors, you had better be prepared for dust.  Willie did a great job of mitigating this (Put up barriers all around) but it is DUSTY work.
Job well done!

Offered great options including replacing floor vents and when he says it will look better to put quarter round to fill the gap between the floor and base, let HIM do it. It was a pain to do later and he was right, made a difference. Beautiful floors, worked on a tight schedule between tenants and painting. Courteous, professional, efficient.

Very well. It was a tough removal, accomplished well. The new floor tied in well with the old floor. It looks great.

. He gave me an extremely affordable bid, surprisingly affordable and much less than I expected to spend. We set a date for the work, and he was there when he said he would be, meeting the agreed upon schedule.
We did not have to vacate our home overnight as I had previously feared; neither did we have to board our cats I was sorry after that I had not had my dining room and foyer redone at the same time.

Hired Bridgeman Floors based on the recommendation of a two local homebuilders. Both expressed Willie's (the owner) expertise. I hired him to basically redo the entire downstairs level of our home including the staircase. We have been doing extensive remodeling and could only wish that all the subs were like Steve (his main employee) and Willie!! They have been exemplary! My kids love them, they are professional, punctual, responsive, and most importantly good at what they do. I said a B for price perhaps only because I'm cheap. I had heard of similar jobs being done for less, BUT I cannot attest to the workmanship of said jobs. Willie and his staff have been wonderful that as much as its never fun to spend a lot of money, I like knowing good hard workers are being paid! Plus, WIllie's wife, Ardis, handles all the behind the scenes administrative work and she is WONDERFUL! She is absolutely on top of all the money and scheduling!

I was referred to Bridgeman Floors from a neighbor. Bridgeman was doing some floor work there, and I saw the truck and asked of the neighbor's experience. The neighbor gave a very positive report. Having used other local vendors before, with varying results, I wanted to try to up the ante and get someone really good - not just kinda good sometimes. Willie (the proprietor and main craftsman) came by promptly for an estimate, and then via his wife (who manages the office) over the next couple of weeks a deal was hammered out. I was impressed with Willie's candor and willingness to take on a relatively challenging job (because in several areas the floors needed to be made level). Once the work was scheduled and the materials chosen, the crew showed up exactly as planned. Willie works with a crew of about 4. Most of his team is friendly and patient. Willie worked with us through a bump or two - a matter of mutual miscommunication - and we worked everything out which is to his credit: he's a decent guy, always looking for the positive. I like Willie and I certainly respect the craftsmanship. The floor are absolutely beautiful. I have been impressed with their attention to detail. Also, they clean up each night and the place is spotless. The only reason I gave a B instead of an A on price is that the labor charges seemed a little high, considering the man/hours spent installing. On the other hand, it wasn't the simplest job and I am appreciative and would do it all over again. All in all, TOP NOTCH. The neighbors were right: Bridgeman Floors is a fine choice for high-quality, hand-laid hardwood floor work. I will use them again on other properties.

Update: all this time later I needed to go in and check the gad fireplace valves. There are two, both in the floor. Well, one was gone! Turns out the floor installers planked right over the gas valve control. This led me to have to have the gas capped off in the one fireplace, or dig up the floor. They should have noticed this and worked around it. They did the right thing on the other valve. Valves in the floor are not uncommon. Considering this I need to revise my assessment, because this sort of mistake is one of carelessness. I am quite sure if they were doing their own floor they would not have planked over the gas valve.
Response from Bridgeman Hardwood Floors
"When Bridgeman Hardwood Floors worked on the floor for Member there was only one gas valve visible. If there was a second gas valve, it may have already been under the sub floor. We did not see a second gas valve, nor were we notified of this until reading this report. We would have taken care of the problem if we had been notified. We take pride in our work and would have appreciated the chance to correct this."
