Install went well. We were picky about placement of our softener as we didn't want to install another closet to house it. He worked with us on an exterior set-up to avoid some of the noise and space issues it could have presented in our finished basement.
The only reason I rated a B on responsiveness was that we were told they would follow up each year to install new filters in our RO system, of course at an additional cost which I was fine with. But a bit after our year mark I had to call and inquire about if maybe I recorded our 1 year mark incorrectly and it turned out our paperwork wasn't processed correctly at their office for follow-up. But they immediately responded and were out within a few days to replace the necessary filters. Overall we had a great experience and we have pretty high expectations.

They use faulty testing or no testing at all to sell you something you don't need. I had one of their people on the 6th of September to test my water and he looked in the back of our toilet tank and pronounced that we had manganese in our water. He then proceeded to scare us that manganese was the cause of bacteria and was the cause of perkiness. So, he then went on to test the water for normal things, he did not test for manganese specifically. I have a written quote that gives a brake down of what was found. In that form, it said 'heavy' under the manganese column which he never even tested. I shopped around and spoke with another local water company and told them about what I was told, he came out and tested for manganese and there was none to be found by the tests. I wrote an email to the management to Pacific Mist and I explained in 3 paragraphs and attached the written documentation that stated we had manganese and stated that I was curious what his response would be to this before I posted on Angie's List. I never got a response.

We've done business with this company for a long time but never needed work done. My husband always took care of it. This was the first time they had to come out to service and repair. Randy was very polite and even though the job was pretty labor intensive, (the broken part was buried under a load of hard salt) plus other problems, he didn't charge me any extra labor. He spent time explaining what I needed to do after it had run a full cycle which would probably take a couple of hours. I was pretty impressed.
