Few years back I used PHF (Portland Hardwood Flooring) to re-polish the hardwood at my property. Cris and his crew did a fantastic job. Price was reasonable, result was top of the line, schedule was kept on time. Last year, I got another floor problem at my kitchen area, this was an engineered wood floor. Hoping to get a good repair result, I called Cris on sometime July 2020. Maybe Cris was to busy, he assigned the work to his partner, Nick. I felt that Nick did not really work attentively for this (too) small repair work. Floor installation was bad, he blamed the material. To make the surface even, he sanded the floor resulting different appearance with the surrounding original floor, looked ugly. When he left, he had not finished the work on the kitchen cabinets. What was totally unacceptable was, he sent a text message in early Nov 2020 for finishing the work the next week after. He never came back for 4 months until a texted him. No response, no explanation, no sorry or anything. I sent another email to tell him that our work relation had ended.

Chris refinished our white oak floors on a house we just purchased. It had a yellow look that we didn’t like and Chris was able to sand it off and added Bona natural seal to give a more whitewashed look. He worked fast and gave us the look we wanted, we couldn’t be happier. We are thankful that he was able to fit us in on a weekend to do our floors so that we could move in quickly. Highly recommend

Terrible! We built a new house and used Portland Hardwood Flooring. After it was all done a week or so later we moved in and then started noticing the scratches!! We have two dogs. Evidently Chris from PHF said it was the dogs and left when we complained. One of the dogs is a 13 year old golden with just one eye!! Not doing much activity at all. This is an oak floor with a light color, boy it looks bad. Guess you just go with Pergo as hardwood doesn’t hold up like it used to. Chris is evidently unwilling to do anything... so sad, such a nice new house and such terrible floors! We have a 100 year old house in Portland. 5 years ago a competitor added hardwoods to match the originals. This is the dark oak finish. To this day there is not a scratch, and that was when the golden was 8 and had both eyes!! Why don’t the floors from Portland Hardwood Flooring hold up after just a couple weeks? Why won’t Chris stand behind his work? We made a $30,000 mistake with Chris. Go with a competitor or use laminate.

The work is brilliant! Thankful for the talent, professionalism and hard work of Chris, Nick and Patrick. Our project was to extend existing hickory hardwood flooring to the entire lower level. This included 43 linear feet that needed lacing to match up with the existing ... a huge amount of linear feet! This project took a lot of hard work, and a lot of know-how — so glad we found the perfect company to take this on! The finished floors looking incredible. Wow! Thank you so much.

Great. We did not want to have to redo the entire kitchen just to blend in several spots along the edges. Cris warned us the match would not be perfect, but it nearly is. Certainly good enough for our eyes and satisfied our desire not to have to refinish unaffected portions of our flooring.

Excellent service and excellent work product. Chris's crew dig a great job on our older, weathered wood floors. They look brand new. And Portland Hardwood flooring also came it close to the best price amongst the 4 bids that we got for our project.

Cris and his crew removed carpets and subfloors in my home and replaced all with hardwood. If I could give them 10 stars, I would do so. Cris is clear in his communication, professional, and is a true artist in his craft. He began on schedule and finished on schedule, and he replied to every question of mine immediately. He made the entire process as painless and efficient as possible, and left me with clear instructions on how to care for the floors into the future so that they look as beautiful decades from now as they do today. The floors are absolutely perfect.

The work was excellent and everything went well. We really appreciated the fine work of Nicholas and Patrick. They always came on time and worked long hours. The total project took 6 and a half days. Chis' work on the stairs was also excellent.

The Nick and Nick team came to do the sanding and first refinishing coat. They were very professional and tidy. Cris came to do the follow up buffing and second refinishing coat. The project took about 3 days. Cris was helpful and prompt at keeping the project on task. The floors look amazing. We would definitely hire Cris again for our floors.

The overall quality of the work was outstanding and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend for anyone looking for new hardwoods, refinishing old hardwoods, or some combination of the two. I would hire them again and will for any future work I have done.

Beautifully!!! Cris and his crew were fantastic! He responded quickly, visited our home and provided a bid that was aligned with 3 other bids we received from other companies. We were able to look at another floor he installed and spoke with the owner of a flooring provider and had no reservations about hiring him. He advised us on deciding which type of flooring and was able to complete the job within our timeline. He answered all texts and calls immediately - even when he was on vacation with his family prior to installation. Our 2 installers were the best!! Nick and Nick were professional, friendly and very competent. Cris also worked with them much of the time. They covered kitchen cupboards with plastic as well as stairwells and loft. The dust was minimal. We left town for much of the time they were working since we had no access to kitchen or anything on the main floor. I would recommend Portland Flooring to everyone - I already have!! The results were gorgeous!

The process of connecting with Cris to obtain a proposal was easy. We found him to be professional, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. On the day work was to begin, his worker showed up right on time and was very polite and professional. The sanding part of the job was well done, with plastic sheeting put up to contain the dust. And the refinished floors turned out great – we are delighted with how they look. The prep work could have been better as the base boards and carpet on the stair landing were not masked prior to staining, resulting in the carpet on the stairs being stained. Fortunately, it is older carpet we knew we would eventually have to replace. In fairness to Cris, it was one of his employees who did this; and Cris took 10% off of our bill for this, and he was very apologetic. Were it not for this, the rating would be an "A" instead of a "B". In any event, I would hire Cris and his company again as our floors are beautiful!
