RIVERSIDE WINDOW & DOOR INC CO

Upon experiencing a leak in our window and knowing that it had a 15 year warranty is where our horror story begins. We called for four weeks for Lance the owner of Riverside Windows and Doors. And after a month of someone taking a message and no return call, and one visit to the store where Lance was "not available", we contacted the manufacture. They sent out a representative to inspect the window and observed the leak. They sent us a letter indicating that the window's warranty was voided, but to the fact it was to be painted prior to install. We thought we were buying from a locally owned company and that we would have the benefit of their guidance and oversight with this product and it's proper installation. We had assumed Riverside would have overseen and communicated with the installer necessary painting or any other required aspect of this window. We never were advised nor did we touch the product or installation manual before it was installed. My wife finally went to Riversides store and demanded to see Lance the owner. He came out finally and suggested we paint the window and see what happens. In the summer my wife painted the window, but as winter set in it leaked again. At the beginning of 2012 we called Lance again, and after three weeks he finally called. Understand each time I asked why it took so long to get back to us there is always a I didn't get your message or I've been sick excuse. This time he viewed the leak and said he would contact a repair person who would charge us time and materials but could possibly fix it. I asked so the voided warranty, wood that is not rotting, and the cost of this repair person is all on me. He responded yes. To date, five weeks after he looked at the window there has been no call or contact. We called Smith Glass a local company in Corvallis and they sent out a repair person who said he would at least seal the seams on the top. So far it has not leaked. I could not stress how much I would recommend you stay far away from Riverside Windows and doors. The product quality is not my complaint, just be prepared to get zero support or if you run into a bad problem they will be nowhere to be found. Find a window on the internet and just have it shipped to you home, or call someone who not only sells windows but does the installation.
