I hired based on the reviews, but they are really more about customer service (which was good), rather than quality. Unfortunately, the result was at the level of a somewhat poor project, He was not a professional painter. Luckily it was outside, but I still spent a lot of time cleaning and touching up afterward. Scott is somewhat careful about masking flat surfaces but ignores the vertical ones, then splashes on them or scuffs them with boots or equipment. And he somehow managed to chip my slate floor, simply by carrying his equipment through my house. For a quick-and-dirty or new construction, he may be all right. But If you are going to spend money on good-quality paint or stain, you will probably want to hire a professional painter, not someone who is not professional.

We hired Scott for two projects at our house: 1- Repair the drywall of the powder room ceiling and replace the wallpaper and paint the powder room. 2- Sand and stain the front door. Our walnut woodwork was scratched and worn after 40+ years. Scott refinished it in a quick and easy manner and it looks absolutely beautiful. Scott also painted most of the rooms in our house. We hired Scott to paint two bedrooms. The rooms were in bad shape with lots of cracks and holes in the plaster. Scott fixed these, and now we can't tell they were there. Scott has lots of experience and really loves his profession. As he was starting the job, he remarked how much fun it was going to be to make the rooms look beautiful. And now they DO look beautiful. Scott is willing to take the time to do careful work. For example, we wanted white trim, and Scott was meticulous about getting sharp lines between the walls and the trim. Scott is tidy. Even though we're now going to refinish the floors, he was careful to protect them while he worked, and he cleaned up every day before he went home. Scott is punctual and was willing to work with our schedule. He even waited half a day for us to decide on colors! Scott is trustworthy. We had no qualms about giving him keys to the house so he could let himself in if he arrived after we left. It turned out the materials cost was a little lower than his estimate (partly because he found a great price on the primer), and he passed that savings right on to us. He gets a contractor's discount at Miller paint (and, I think, at Sherwin-Williams), and he passed that on to us instead of scraping a little profit there. Scott is a nice, pleasant person. I enjoyed getting to know him a little. It's likely we will hire him again.

Scott is knowledgeable, very professional and very attentive to detail. He painted the walls and ceilings of two rooms in our home.
