This company did an exemplary job of re-caning the broken seat. They have excellent customer service and fair pricing. I would definitely use them again and have recommended them to friends.

Beautiful work! They even delivered and set up my table. They did inform me it might take a while because he was fitting this small job in between other big jobs – very knowledgeable.

This company does excellent work but you can’t expect the item to be completed quickly. If you are in a hurry, go elsewhere, but if you want quality work and can be patient, Pete is your guy.

P.K. Furniture picked up the furniture, asked what I wanted gave me choices of finishes, and when through it in detail. Furniture was finished on time and with the little extras done, it looks and works better today , then the day it was made. Love it.

I had an antique double bed frame used for years that never came with a support system for the mattress. So years ago, a family member created supports that through the years did not hold up. It was also not level. I asked PK Furniture if they were willing to retrofit the frame to fit with the IKEA slats and center metal support I had and figure the leveling out. He built the head of the bed up 1-1/2 inches and stained/sealed to match the frame even going so far as to match the grain. Because I had it on wheels, he drilled up in to the leg with metal supports so that I could still use the wheels and not create pressure on the blocks he added. He also added wood to the headboard to create a support for the bracket for the metal center support. He sized the slats down to accommodate the uneven width of the side boards.
He also created a more secure slat system. He went above and beyond in helping me with options and resolving the issues this old frame had. He also does a beautiful job with refinishing furniture as I saw several of his completed projects. I did not have him refinish mine as I do my own refinishing.

Pete and Kimberly are great to work with for furniture repairs. The seat of the rocker looked as if someone had thrown a volleyball through it. Pete removed the cane from the seat, cleaned out the groove to prep for the new cane and reed, then replaced new cane and reed in order to complete the repair. Stain was also used on the new cane and reed. He carefully replaced the top screw inserts, added screws that were missing, and replaced several broken screws. Finally, he conditioned the finish, removing as many scratches as possible. Kimberly was fantastic with communicating through Angie's List. She was prompt with responses to my questions and was extremely helpful with explanations. Her friendly demeanor was winsome. I certainly recommend this business for anyone's furniture repair needs.

I could not be more pleased with the work done by PK, from my initial contact through finished product.
The preliminary communication (email) in early September included price quotes based on my photos and scheduling information. We scheduled the week-long project for mid-November, and PK adhered to this timeline. Upon my delivery of the table, Pete and Kim took a intense interest in the piece and its history. They also kept up good communication while the table was in their shop. I was able to choose a stain midway through the project when Pete applied 20 or so colors to one of the leaves so I could really see what it would look like on the wood. On the same visit to the shop I was able to see the table taken apart and stripped, and the structural reinforcements Pete made to this 100+ year-old piece.
The finished product is so satisfying. It is gorgeous, but it's not only its beauty that makes me happy--I rather expected that. I did not expect and am really pleased with the reconditioning. For example, the table has nine leaves, so the extending mechanism on the underside of the tabletop is substantial. The two halves of the table simply glide apart and together now, rather than the yank and thrust that was required before. I was not knowledgeable enough to know that this was not "normal." I am grateful for Pete's expertise that improved my table in ways I would have never known to ask for.

I showed them a photo of the table on my smart phone and discussed the job and set a date to bring the table in. Their practice is to have you keep the item until they can repair it, then you bring it in and the repair is done promptly (couple of days), no waiting around for some approximate completion date. When I took the table in they were ready for it and went over the suggested work in detail and gave me an estimate. The final bill matched the estimate - a bit on the pricey side (but I got no other estimates) but absolutely worth it.
The repair was fantastic. They completely disassembled the old table, re-glued a couple of splits and completely cleaned and re-glued it, including some hidden reinforcements to make it stronger. The refinishing was fabulous. The table was bought used by my parents over 80 years ago and probably never looked this good while we owned it. Perhaps it didn't even look this good new.
We are tremendously pleased with the quality of the work and the way the whole job was handled.

I took the tables to them. They were beautiful and they did a great job. They were good. Someone recommended them to me and I would recommend them. It was pricey but they did excellent work. He actually did some repair work on one of the tables. They were good and I didn't ask anybody so I didn't compare their prices. It seemed pricey but it was good work.

The very positive was excellent work; the advice given for the color of the refinishing of the wood was excellent. I was very impressed with that. The pricing was very reasonable for what I had done. The work was excellent, exactly everything, but you have to be patient, for getting it back because it does take some time, he is not a fast worker and he has lots of business. If you take it in and expect to have it back in a few weeks, that’s not going to happen, probably. You have to be patient for something that is well done. That would be my comment, it might take a while you are going to get a wonderful product back.

I emailed photos of my antique tables to P.K. with a request for a quote on repairing a split in the wood of a drop leaf table and also a refinishing of a small side table. I received the quote within a day. When I took my tables in he spent a lot of time with me explaining what he would do. He found additional small repair needs and pointed them out which I agreed upon. When it was time for refinishing I went in and he again spent a lot of time showing me different stain samples until I found one I liked. The results were beyond my expectations. He even did additional work to help secure my drop leaf table. And the price was below the emailed quote. Excellent job. It is obvious he takes great pride in his work.

Peter did an awesome job - not only were the chairs re-caned, but he re-furbished them and had them ready for my family gathering on Memorial Day Weekend. They are absolutely beautiful! And I am confident they will last for many years to come. He also gave me hints on how to preserve the cane seats.

The low Japanese table , about fifty years old, had acquired many scratches and needed to be refinished. Pete made an estimate from photos, and when we brought the table in he confirmed the estimate and worked on the table. He called a few days later to suggest a change in the stain we had picked, because once he stripped the table he saw that it had lovely grain patterns that the previous stain had obscured. We told him to go ahead with his idea, and the result was spectacularly good. We were very pleased with his attentiveness and care, and very happy with the result.

Working with P. K. Furniture, was a wonderful experience and made me feel like I was experiencing a transaction from the late 1800's. The personal care and extra miles he went to ensure the end product was not only what we wished for but also was finished to perfection. To resolve some of the minor issues where the veneer on the lower edges was not "fixable" he fabricated some side mouldings to finish the bottom edge on the ends of the chest and then made a new slightly longer front moulding, patterned after the original moulding so that the corners fit properly and looked to be part of the original chest. This is a shop owner who takes pride in his work and goes above and beyond what we asked for in order to provide us with the best possible results. As a final touch he replaced the casters that had originally been added by my dad for ease in moving the chest, with some smaller and properly mounted casters. The finish work is beautiful.
I honestly can't say enough in praise for the work and the price of this project. You restored and kept the beauty of a piece of furniture that will please and impress my mom for the rest of her years and be something we can pass along to the next generations.
Thank you Pete, we expect to be calling on you again in the future.

Pete was very helpful, provided free pick-up, service and did an excellent job fixing our hand - crafted wooden couch. He finished the job in a reasonable time for good price.
