I called him from the yellow pages and asked for an estimate. He said he doesn't like to go all the way to my house (10 miles) to just give an estimate. He would rather just give an estimate right before he begins working. He said a normal house is about $80-$140. He said he would be there at 9:30 or 10, he did not show up until 12:30. After looking at the windows, he said it would be 8-10 hours worth of cleaning at $55/hour because there was some paint that needed scraping. I decided to just have him clean the window wall (11 large windows), inside & out. He said he could do that in about 4 hours. I came home 4 hours later and he had cleaned 6 windows inside and out. He said he would be back in the morning, again not until 10. The next morning I called to tell him not to bother, I left a message. He called about 10:30 and left a message saying his back is hurt, has to go to chiro and should make it later in the day. I called again to tell him not to come. He is extremely slow.
Description of Work: We have a large house with many windows, including a "window wall". Our home is a two story house.

THE MENTIONED HOUSE IS A SHOW HOUSE WITH A VERY LARGE WINDOW WALL IN THE LIVING ROOM. THERE IS A BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF YARD, CREEK N FORESTED HILLSIDE. THE HOUSE WAS A NEW BUILD, MEANING THERE WAS STILL DIRT, DUST, PAINT AND SOME DRY WALL ON THE GLASS, WITH BRIGHT MORNING SUN COMING THRU. THIS MEANS HAVING TO BE VERY CAREFUL USING A RAZOR BLADE NOT STRATCH GLASS AND BEING CAREFUL WITH NEW PAINT, NEW CARPET, NEW WOOD TRIM, ETC.. WHICH MEANS MORE TIME AND HARDER TO JUDGE TIME FOR JOB OVER A LIVED IN HOUSE. I WANTED THE WINDOWS TO LOOK VERY CLEAN TO MATCH THE BEAUTY OF THE HOUSE AND WONDER FULL VIEW, TO ALSO HELP WITH THEIR SELLING THE HOME. THE CUSTOMER DID SUPPLY A HUGE TRAP TO COVER THE VERY LIGHT COLORED CARPET WITH. WHICH WAS VERY HELPFUL AS SUPPLIES ARE HARDER TO GET AROUND A SMALL TOWN PLUS TRAVEL AND SEARCHING TIME. THIS IS AN AREA I RARELY GO TO. I HAD MANY CUSTOMERS TELL ME HOW NICE IT WAS THAT I CALL THE BACK AFTER THEM PAYING ME AND LETTING THEM KNOW THAT I'M GOING TO BE LATE AND WHEN I SHOULD ARRIVE. THE HOUSE WAS LEFT OPEN AS THEY WHERE MOVING/ED OUT WITH CLEANING TO DO. I'VE DONE OVER 400 HOUSES IN 20+ YEARS AND 5 OR 10 HAD MINIMAL COMPLAINTS, ALL THE REST EXPRESSED " IT LOOKS LIKE THE WINDOWS AREN'T EVEN THERE AND HOW MUCH BETTER THEY FEEL" . I TRY KEEPING A BALANCE WITH PRICE, SAFETY, EXPLANATION AND CAREFULNESS WITH HOUSE, CUSTOMER.
