Dan painted the majority of our 1800 sf house.  He did an outstanding, thorough job.  His communication was excellent, patiently walking us through the many little issues that can arise during a major interior painting job.  He also threw in some little extras for free that were not in the original bid, like fixing some unmatched ceiling paint from an earlier repair.  

This is a husband and wife operation so the job does not go as fast as if there were a whole crew invading.  However, I suspect this allows them to keep overhead low and pass some savings along to the homeowner.  Also, in our case it gave us time to shuffle around our furniture and get ready for each part of the job.  Any faster and we would’ve felt rushed.

Dan has a very pleasant personality and does a great job at a fair price.  You won’t be disappointed if you hire him!

PS for you pet owners, Dan was great with our cats.  Normally we lock our cats up when contractors are working, but Dan made it clear he did not mind the cats hanging around to help him paint.

We had a dark purple and he was able to cover the paint in one coat using a high quality paint. He was very detail oriented and his work was outstanding. He was very flexible in working with our time frame. Dan is very friendly and my 5 year old and 2 and half year old loved him. He was extremely patient with all the questions they had, they still talk about Dan painting our house to this day. We paid for his labor and for the supplies. He charged us the exact amount he paid for the paint. We had another company come out and give us a bid, they just eyeballed everything and gave us a quote. Dan actually measured the space and gave us personalized attention. We would hire him again in a heartbeat!

DJ (Dan) Watkins came out to our home, at our convenience, and spent an hour thoroughly evaluating our painting needs and concerns before submitting an estimate. He was sensitive to our "color phobia" and made some gentle suggestions on color - which we followed and are very pleased with. He asked a lot of good questions about our paint plan, took a close look at all our issues (cracks, nail pops, etc) and never pressured us to do more than we were comfortable with.

Dan and his wife, Jan, are a painting team. She does some of the prep work (taping, caulking, removing electric covers, etc) while he gets underway with the actual painting. At the end of each work day, he picked up the "mess" (ladders, paint, drop cloths, etc) and made the house as clean as possible for us to use during the evening.

We felt totally comfortable giving Dan a key to our home for access while we were gone during the day. Dan takes his time, and is thoroughly professional in his work. The whole project took about 6 - 7 days, so it was significant, and I thought the price he charged was very fair. We saved money on the paint (didn't need as much as originally estimated) so decided to have him paint an extra bedroom that we had not thought we'd be able to afford.

The walls look so lovely now that I can't quite bring myself to put a nail in to hang a picture yet! Next time I need to have painting done, I'll be calling DJ Watkins!

We have a bunch of houses in town for which we are doing property management for. He has always been very good in providing us a quote and is always on time. He is little bit on the pricey side for what he does but he is awesome. We have never been disappointed with his work and he has done some difficult work for us. We had a big dog in the garage and it scratched up the metal door. He touched it up, repainted and we couldn't even tell that it was damaged. He really knows the paints and the materials so that he can do what needs to be done to make it work. We had a house we were stating to sell. He came in to look the house over, checked what needed to be done and there was touch up work which was needed to be done. He matched colors, took care of painting where it needed to be painted and it looked awesome when it got done.
