Cross Town Movers & Storage

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. They assured me that they were extremely accurate on their quoting for services. They scheduled 2 trucks and 2 crews--they came out with 1 truck and 1 crew. They came out to do the move and did not bring the promised wardrobe boxes and they had all rookies, who were so slow it took them 12 hours to load a truck. I have an adjustable bed and the kid did not disconnect the cords and broke one of the cords. Because they didn't even come close to moving me, we had to schedule a second day with two trucks and two crews. Again, so slow and took them almost the same amount of time again. And no wardrobe boxes as promised. So they then charged me for boxes and didn't even allow me to count the number of boxes they used. Some of my stuff went into storage--so it is difficult to know exactly how many boxes were used. They broke off part of a leg of a corner hutch. They put the tool boxes (very heavy) in my livingroom on cream carpet (they packed these boxes and didn't label them). Some of my clothing boxes that were marked ended up in my shop. Who even knows what is actually in storage and the condition of the items. They used my packing tape because they didn't have full rolls on the truck (but charged me for the rolls). Ended up costing me double what they quoted. They offered a claim at 60 cents per pound based on what they considered the weight--a total of $400. They wasted my time, caused additional stress by not having the correct crew out the first day and a rookie crews. They charged me for 2 crews the second day, which wasn't accurate as they only had 1 crew + 1 person and 2 trucks. I had to bring someone else in to fix my bed and someone to move the tools to the shop and clothes in the house. Because they split crews and I couldn't be two places at the same time, I had stuff all over the place with no organization or in the right rooms or locations. DO NOT USE. THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND THEY HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO QUOTE YOUR MOVE AND ARE SOOOOOO SLOW.

THE MOVERS ARRIVED ON TIME AND QUICKLY ASSESSED THE JOB AND WENT RIGHT TO WORK. THEY MADE SURE THE BANNISTERS WERE NOT SCRATCHED BY PROTECTING THEM WITH BLANKETS. THEY MOVED A COUPLE OF PIECES OF FURNITURE THAT WAS IN THE WAY AND PUT THEM BACK. THEY TOOK THE MACHINE APART AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER. THEY EVEN TOOK PICTURES OF THE PICTURES ON THE WALL GOING UP THE STAIRS SO AS THEY ORIGINALLY WERE. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL THE WHOLE TIME AND COMPLETED THE WORK IN THE TIME ALLOTTED. THE GENTLEMEN WERE JON, RUSSELL AND KRYS. I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN IN A MINUTE.

I've used CrossTown Movers three or four times prior and they were all wonderful experiences. This time, however, it was awful. I guess it depends on WHICH Crosstown guy you use. The trucks are owned by different people. This time I used Gordon's trucks and it was dirty and left dirt spots that did NOT brush off or easily clean off my white couch. They tore my sand colored sectional and broke items in boxes -- which never happened before. These two fellow were guys I had not used before. The one fellow was constantly on his cell phone with his girlfriend and the didn't want to do the next job so I believe was purposely taking his time they both were moving very, very slowly... not like the usual Cross Town experiences of literally running. The cost too was more than double I was used to. So the tip was less than I usually do. I was saddened. This was moving from my CrossTown Storage to home

Let me start by saying that I hate moving; so when I say that Cross Town Movers, and the two gentlemen I worked with (Dontae and Carlos) not only made the experience almost painless but even a little fun, it is high praise indeed. They were professional, efficient, and talked me through each decision they made in regards to packing and moving my belongings. The transparency in both pricing and process was very refreshing and we ended up coming in under the quoted price! We loaded two apartments and moved in to the home all in one day, and Dontae especially went consistently above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. However much you pay these guys, it's not enough! Will absolutely recommend Cross Town Movers to friends and family!

Amazingly well

The move went extremely well. Several other clients created a logjam during the day but Larry's crew, Krys and Cody stayed after hours to move the furnishings into the rent-a-room. They went above and beyond to do this since it was past working hours. I'm not sure any other movers would address our concern about getting out as quickly as possible as thoroughly as this company did.

It went great.Larry was out to give us a bid on the move the same day that I called.He was able to book the move for 2 days later.Cody and Kris were our movers.They were fast,respectful and very easy to work with.All 3 of them were awesome.

I was so excited and relieved by how well the move from my 7200 square-foot house went. Seriously, these guys are amazing! I moved in the middle of August at the same time we had the heat wave of over 100°. This did not slow them down a bit! I had many movers (because of the size of the job) and every single one of them were courteous, professional, efficient and FAST. Packing up went quickly. Moving into my new home was even faster which was no easy feat considering my driveway is very steep. Even though it was hot and very difficult to move my very large furniture and all the boxes up the driveway and into my house, I never heard one word of negativity to me or each other. Moving is not fun, but working with these guys made it so much easier. Thanks Larry, Leo, Mikey, Dylan, twilight, Carrie and Nick!

Movers Tim and Cody were on time. Their attitude was great, they were friendly and easy to work with.

WARNING!!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! We hired Cross Town Movers to move my 86-year-old mom to a studioapartment which should have been a piece of cake. Not so much! They dropped the mattress in a mud puddle, shattered the base of a $200 lamp leaving the mess for us to clean up, broke the front off of a portable Bose radio/cd player which would have cost $100 to replace, left numerous items in the truck and returned it to the lot which they finally retrieved after calling them 5 or 6 times. They did not mention anything about needing to purchase moving insurance so after numerous calls and a month later they agreed to refund $39 informing us that we signed off on a possible reimbursement of 60 cents per pound. That said, it's now been 2 months and the check has not arrived.

Chris, Marty and Lenny of Cross Town Movers in Newport showed up on time and moved a considerable amount of furniture, plants and belongings with efficiency, good humor and no damage what-so-ever, ! If I had the resources, I would start a moving company and hire these three men to run it

Went Exceptional! They were on time, courteous, and professional. They worked hard until the job was completely done. Communicated throughout the move. Our move couldn't have been better. Leo, Dillon and Tim were the best!

The only issue was their estimate of the job, was way off (Low).

Packing was done in less than half a day - and moving was done in not much more than that. The same crew worked on both halves - except that after seeing the scope of the job they were dealing with, they cut the crew to 2 people instead of 3 for the move, saving me some hundreds of dollars. The crew were friendly and professional throughout, and went above and beyond the normal moving standards (offering to relocate furniture and boxes if I realized/decided I'd placed them wrong the first time.) Not to mention that their coordinator/dispatcher dealt with FOUR changes of dates, times and crew requirements on my part (I have one h*** of a work schedule) without a complaint - which would have been deserved after phone call #2. I'd hire these folks again in a hot second.
