The contractor for the foundation work arranged for Corvallis Plumbing to disconnect the plumbing lines, which he did with no problems.  I was rather surprised that he made no attempt to cleanup, but left all the pipes lying around the yard.  He also wrote up a bid to do the plumbing for two bathrooms and a kitchen, which seemed a reasonable price.  I did plan to use him for this work but I was a little uneasy about his attitude... he didn't seem to like old houses or DIY homeowners, which was case with me and my property.  A few months later, when I went to the building department to get a plumbing permit, the plans examiner got very angry and started yelling at me because he said it was a major violation to disconnect the plumbing lines without a permit.  This upset me very much (getting yelled at)  and so I decided not to use Corvallis Plumbing for the rest of the job.  In his defense, when we talked about the bid, he said that I would be the one to pull the plumbing permits.  But he didn't tell me that they were needed just to disconnect the plumbing system, which I think he should have as the professional.

worker found the damage quickly did a good job on getting the job done, so the drains could clear.

I could have probably fixed it myself, but I made a mistake with the part and had to have a plumber come out. Their price was probably competitive but I paid $100 for my mistake and it is not their fault. They are personable and present a good appearance. They are prompt and gave me the estimate, which was basically the trip charge since they really did not have to do much.

Corvallis Plumbing provided a distinctly lower cost estimate than the other 2 plumbers I had bid the work. He completed the project, and I believe I got an excellent value. Jeff always arrived just when he said he would. The plumbing is working just fine.

see above, very good, prompt service especially since I had to do everything by phone as I do not live in Corvallis.

I called Corvallis Plumbing and summarized the scope and asked when they could have someone out and what they estimated. They were very responsive and gave an hour estimate over the phone of 3 to 3 hours plus parts and quoted a rate of $78/hour. They were able to schedule someone for the next day. The representative called ahead to say they were ahead of schedule and asked whether it was OK to arrive 30 min early. I was fine with that schedule. On arrival the plumber quickly reviewed his approach and the typical heights of the shower head and tub fixture. He performed the work in just over 2.5 hours and only charged 2.5 hours. The work was well done and complete. The only thing lacking was clean-up. He left a few small items to be discarded that I was able to pick up and quickly throw in the trash. The tub has been in operation for about 2 months and works very well. He had all the parts (feed and drain lines and fittings) and tools he needed.

One valve ended up in the wrong place in the first attempt at bypassing the external storage tank. He wasn't sure about how it was done so we tested it and then he fixed it right away. The rest of the work was done really well and he cleaned up after himself, making sure that he got all of the sawdust out of the cupboards where he made the holes for the ice maker water lines.
