Measured the blind correctly, managed the manufacture's production process and made the installation.
Installation was quick, and the blind fit and worked perfectly.
The shade repair was done in the local shop, then the company's employee installed the shade quickly and efficiently.
The repair took a little longer than I expected it to, but the company kept me informed and completed wth work properly.
The installer was also wonderful. He answered any questions we had, asked us to look at the blinds and tell him if we found anything wrong with any of them. There were two blinds that had been manufactured incorrectly. He reordered new ones and came out and replaced them within a couple of weeks. At that time we also found out that he had ordered a new set for our sliding glass doors, because the head rail was slightly bent. We had never even noticed that!
All in all, our experience with Budget Blinds in Corvallis was outstanding. Due to the excellent experience, we made contact with Heather Van Eyk, the co-owner of Budget Blinds who also owns her own separate design company, and asked her to be our designer and consultant with some bathroom and kitchen remodel.
We have been very impressed with the style of business practiced by Budget Blinds and the professionalism. We have no hesitation in recommending them, and we would use them again, without question.
Consultation
It took place in early July w/ Stacy, the owner. She was very personable and informative, took measurements right there, and provided me with a quote.
Process
It took me a few weeks to figure out if I wanted to do business with Budget Blinds and then to decide what I wanted. The blinds didn't arrive and weren't installed until mid-October. If I had known from the start that it would have taken that long, I probably wouldn't have been so disappointed. However, I was provided with an installation date, which was more like late August, but the blinds never arrived. Apparently, they hadn't even shipped yet on the date they were to be installed. This happened two more times. At one point, I wasn't sure the blinds were ever going to get here. Communication could have been better: they tried to keep me updated but sometimes they didn't. Once I ended up waiting all day for the installer. I finally called and was told the blinds still hadn't arrived, which would have been nice to know that earlier. There was definitely some lack of communication and even some mis-communication among the employees and myself, between the shop and its vendors. They did apologize profusely for the delays and I know that Stacy didn't find what was happening acceptable. Once the blinds arrived, they were installed quickly. The installer was very courteous and helpful
Product
The cellular shades are nice for the price. Like everyone else, I got a 35% discount plus free features, such as cordless for all four blinds. The blinds are still working just fine and are easy to clean (vacuum). The blackout shades are great. The and quot;no questions askedand quot; warranty means they'll replace each blind once as long as you live in the house, so that's good. The cordless lifts are great and so easy to use! However, the fabric glued on to the top of the shades, the part that attaches to the interior window frame, has loosened and sort of bubbled on each shade. I will probably just fix this by re-gluing sections of the fabric. Overall, the shades are perfect for the rooms they are in: crisp and clean, provide privacy, and don't hide the lovely vintage window molding.
I noted that I wouldn't buy again from this business but I'm not sure. I want to be fair because I like the convenience of buying from a local business and I like the owner and employees. What happened was most likely not their fault. But I'm not sure if I could deal with all the back and forth, mix-ups, etc., if something like what happened were to occur again.

All our blinds are custom order and unfortunately I don't have any control over the blinds being made. There are many variables that effect that process like fabric out of stock and on back order, parts the same. I really wish I had more control but I don't and this is really hard for me as a business owner. One thing we can and are trying really hard is the communication between our vendors and customers. Its really hard because we have so many customers per month and can't micromanage them all. Lots of customers have multiple orders from different vendors and so it makes it even more difficult to manage. I'm out in sales so I don't have access to the computer systems to check on my orders. In the past 10 years of owning my business, our product has literally come in within two to three weeks. When the economy went down, our vendors stopped being open 24 hour production and working weekends. That has hurt us tremendously. Also, worse than that are the vendors are not carrying all the parts and fabrics or materials in stock sitting on the shelves any longer because it cost money if it doesn't sale. So they order in big quantities when they get their orders in. This is not excuses but facts as a lot has changed. I'm sorry and I wish it were different. But again, its all custom and things happen where there are delays. And this has been hard for us because everyone ask us when are the blinds coming in and we try too give you an answer based upon what has been the norm for us. We are adapting too the new vendor lead time changes as well and hope that we will be able too improve that communication better. I do have control over our service too you for repairs and so if you need us that is what we are here for. I'm very sorry for the delay in getting your blinds repaired in about 3 weeks but I only have one installer and that is what I can only afford right now. We are very busy because of our good customer service and I underderstand that we can't make everyone's timeline or make everyone happy but we really try. If you had to pay for the blind repair, then we must have been too your house for a repair already because after your 1 year warranty expiration date, we still will come out to your house and give you a free repair one time. If this is your first repair and we charged you for it then I'm sorry and that was a mistake and we need to refund you your money. You can call our office tomorrow and talk too Ronda our office manager about it or I can have her to contact you. We would have too pull your folder and verify the information.
