+ -1 moreI needed new handle brackets for my buffet. I had chosen a rather exspensive set when they offered to show me their discount brackets, I walked out spending less than $2 and with 6 new handle brackets. Great customer service showing me lower cost items when they didn't have to.

+ 0 moreWe visited Murphy's Furniture looking for a pine cabinet at least 51" high, 3' wide and at least 14" deep. They had exactly what we wanted. The transaction took approximately ten minutes. Our "visit" lasted about an hour because each time we enter "Murphy's" we are treated like family and there is always catching-up to do not to mention interesting conversations concerning local and national events. We have no doubt that the cabinet will be finished to match existing "office" furniture and that it will be delivered and set into place by Murphy's friendly, courteous and obliging family members.
Description of Work: We have practically furnished our ENTIRE home with high quality oak and pine furniture purchased at Murphy's Furniture with whom we have done business for over twenty years. We are faithful to Murphy's because the majority of their inventory is domestic and the majority of that is manufactured in the Pacific NW. Recently, we purchased a pine cabinet for my husband's "office" area which will have to be finished to match his oak roll top desk, oak file cabinets and pine armoire which was finished to match the oak furniture. We can trust that this will be expertly accomplished to our satisfaction because of the excellent records maintained by the "Murphy Girls" with regard to all of our purchases. We also know the cabinet will be finished to our satisfaction from past experience: If it does not match at the time of delivery, it is automatically loaded back onto the truck and returned to Murphy's for refinishing without our having to utter a request. Murphy Furniture conducts business with a code of moral principles too often lacking in the business world: honesty, responsibility, loyalty, social consciousness and generosity. This is a business that can be counted on and we have done so for 24 years.

+ -1 moreWe needed a solid wood cabinet to hold our TV and all our audio equipment, with doors that would close over the TV, in a style that would blend with our old house, and finished to match our woodwork. We also wanted it to be all wood, including inside, and no particle-board. Murphy's does all wood. We talked to Mary, one of the Murphy sisters who own the shop, and she was extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. She showed us examples of armoires and entertainment centers, and we chose one of them as the basic model of what we wanted. They built the armoire for us with custom shelves to fit what we needed so it would hold our TV and all our equipment. Then they finished the piece it to match our existing woodwork. They delivered it, on time and at a time that was convenient for us. Mary called us later to see if we were happy with it and everything was okay.
Description of Work: Oak TV armoire (entertainment center) with custom finish and custom shelves.
