Parts ordering took a little while, but install happened promptly upon receipt. There was a finish problem with the sink, which wasn't apparent until the installation was complete and an overhead light was turned on. As it turned out, that finish matter is chronic with this model sink from Kohler. Little ol' Tri-County Plumbing was able to eventually get Kohler to special-make a sink, with "custom" finish work! They also replaced the sink at no charge. Can't ask for more than that, eh?

On January 24th Tri-County sent us a bid on the
remodel of our 6’x6’ master bath.
That bid was for $4,525.00. We had that revised to $4,459.00
after Tri County ordered the wrong size toilet. We supplied: marble vanity top
with sink and faucet, and hand held showerhead. The job was supposed to take
3-4 days. On March 4th the workers arrived and started the
demolition, removing the old shower. As of this date, July 23rd; the
job is still not completed. The first delay was “ the shower has not come in
yet”. On the second day we were told the tile had not arrived yet. When they did
install the tile above the shower stall they did so over sheet rock, (not green
board), that had no waterproofing and there was no backboard of any kind around
the frame of the shower. (There was a two-inch gap because the old shower had
been larger than the new one. The showerhead pipe was installed on an old 1”x4”
taken from our old vanity. The 1”X 4” split out where it was toe nailed to the
studs. The screws holding the pipe bracket had also split out so it was not
entirely screwed into the wood. This was tiled over and it was obviously
unstable. When inquiring about these things we were told, “ it will be fine”.
They had dropped a tool of some kind on the shower pan creating a 2” chip on
the bottom (we have before and after photos showing the shower pan during and
after installation). There are numerous scratches on the walls of the shower
that in our opinion was caused by not properly cleaning when grouting the tile.
They installed the back splash on the marble vanity top we had supplied for
them even though it was chipped - about a and frac12; inch by and frac34; inch piece at the end was
missing. When we pointed it out they said it was chipped when it came out of
the box. We have only their word on that, but they should not have put it in if
it was chipped. When they reinstalled the bathroom door it came 18” from
closing due to the tile work they did on the floor. The owner came down to saw
off the bottom of the door; however in doing so he somehow messed up the latch
and now the door won’t latch. His answer to that was, “it probably never closed
right to start with”. I can assure you all our doors did close and latch
properly. The shower glass enclosure had not been installed properly, (the top
aluminum rail that holds the glass was cut too short and not attached to the
wall-we have photos) causing the glass to fall completely out and shatter two
weeks after they left. This again chipped and scratched the inside of the
shower. When we called them the owner would not return our calls. Three and a
half weeks later we got an answer to our email stating that they had the new
glass but no one would install it for us. We gave them the name and number of a
local glass company who installed it two weeks later, only to find out Tri
County had ordered clear glass when ours has a rain design. We are still
waiting for the rain glass to arrive to complete the job. We have paid them
$4,047.00 plus it cost us $1,348 to have their tile work removed and done
properly by the professional that “usually” does the tile work for
Tri-County. When we tried to talk to
the owner, Wes Plummer, he accused us of being “too picky and wanting something
for nothing”. When the glass is finally
properly installed it will have been at least 5 months and we still will be
left with a scarred up shower and a door that does not latch. We have photos
and witnesses from the contractors who had to come in and clean up Tri-County’s
mess. I would never recommend Tri-County for anything. This has been nothing
but a nightmare.

He came out to diagnose a problem we had and he couldn't give me a quote because it would have involved replumbing the house and he is more of a fix-it kind of guy. So, he didn't give me a quote, he said I would have to have someone else come out to do that. Overall, I wasn't particularly happy about that because he did charge me for a service call.
Response from Tri-County Plumbing Contractors Inc
"I'm surprised at this review as I checked the company records and we did not charge for any service call completed in August of 2013. Also, you said you wouldn't hire us again. However, we just came on 8/14/2014 and repiped your entire home water system. And we upsized your water piping at no additional cost. ????"

The installation was professional and flawless and in about a half day we went from essentially unusable water to near perfect water. We also received clear instruction on maintaining the system and since the installation, Tri-County has been very helpful and supportive as we order supplies and ask questions. We highly recommend Tri-County to everyone! and quot;A+and quot;

Everyone I talked with was very courteous, patient and willing to help. With the help of the technician, we were able to get the faucet working properly. It was simply a matter of removing the spout and cleaning around the area where the spout swivels on the head of the faucet.

The service went great. The person they sent not only fixed the break we had, but he also discovered another problem in the making. It was obvious to me that it was something that would cause another break in the future. Because it was late in the day, I said that I was willing to schedule that fix for another day. He said that he wouldn't feel right leaving me with a risk of another break, so he stayed and fixed it. That saved me the time and expense of another service call, so clearly he was looking out for MY interests.

I purchased fixtures and installation for two rental houses. They redid both the kitchens and bathrooms and did a fabulous job. They are both punctual and professional. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of work and would recommend them to any one.

Response from Tri-County Plumbing Contractors Inc
"This customer had Tri-County install a new toilet. Her closet flange was installed as a 14" rough toilet due to a joist location. The toilet she purchased from a different vendor was for a standard 12" rough which left a gap behind the toilet. She thought we had moved the flange out from the wall which we did not. We tried to explain the difference in the toilets but she failed to understand what was being said. We told her she needed a different toilet but she didn't want to return the one she had purchased."

I've used Tri-County several times since I bought my 1909 house. My first experience made me a customer for life. My water heater was a geyser in the basement at 4pm on a Friday. They had someone out in a few minutes and fixed the problem. I have called them for all my plumbing needs from a broken drain to installing tankless water heaters for my home and heating. The prices are reasonable, the plumbers are excellent, and the work is spot on. No messes left, friendly people. Brandy at the office is always ready to answer all my questions.
