They were absolutely superb and terrific. I took possession of this house a year ago and they said they would come over and take care of it. They are absolutely the best. They take a percentage and do not mark up to any product. I put a budget and they take a percentage of the budget. They are really clear and clean.

It went alright. The estimate was for $400 but they ended up charging $700.

"Walt and Barbra added a back deck to the estimate stain and power wash they kind of forgot our change order I would never take advantage of or overcharge me and Walt are buddies this was the second time they used us our services are always satisfaction guaranteed if its not perfect we aren't finished. I have been in business 26 years no claims ever award winning street of dreams paint contractor best of show 1999 every home we build or paint gets this level of quality value and service at a fair price."

ceIt was a new experience to build a custom home, however J Roderick Young was a hands on builder, the architectural details inside and out are classic. At time frustration sets in because some subs just don't show up when they commit to a time. Part of the problem was that as a result of the housing bubble many subs left the area for greener pastures. At times it was tough, however Young did a stellar job of pulling it together. J Roderick Young Custom Homes is a unique company, because Young himself is able preform any sub contractor jobs, which made him a hands on builder. He has been in the business for some time, his attention to detail is remarkable. We are totally in love with the results of the house, it really is a work of art, the fit and finish of our new home is the best I've seen.
Take the time when you build to cover all the issues, be patient with the process, and don't change anything after the process begins, unless it's critically important.

"High quality custom built homes take a little longer to build. I am on the jobsite every day managing every little thing. Our subcontractors are the best, and that means they are busy we schedule them months in advance and constantly give updates on schedule. I keep the pressure on to ensure they take only what they need. High quality, exceptional quality, value and service. This is what I build our name and brand on I ask for 6 months to build, a 2800 SF steep slope home with 1740 sq ft of finished living space"
