As Board President of the Brookhurst Condo Association, I highly recommend hiring I&E Construction for any of your construction needs, large or small. They completed a major repair project for our sixteen-unit community, and we could not be happier with the results. We commissioned a reserve study which detailed significant maintenance repairs needed on our buildings. This work included demolishing and rebuilding cantilever decks, replacing siding, replacing carport posts, replacing all fencing, painting all surfaces, attic venting and mold remediation, and crawlspace maintenance. After careful consideration of the bids submitted, the Board of Directors unanimously selected I&E. They were not the lowest bid, yet their proposed costs were reasonable, and we felt confident we were making the right decision. They did not let us down. From the beginning, we were impressed with I&E’s communication skills, from the initial interview during the bid process as well as throughout the entire project. Our Project Manager, Trofim Matveev, and Site Supervisor, Chris Reutov, kept us informed regarding every step of the project and were very responsive to any questions we had. They always kept us up to date on every aspect of the project, and always responded immediately to any inquiries we made. Trofim and Chris were also dealing with the added complexity of doing this project during the pandemic. Whatever issues came up (including our numerous change orders), they were on top of making sure everything ran smoothly and we were satisfied with the results. They kept their crews safe, kept us safe, and kept the project going throughout those extraordinarily difficult times. We knew they had our backs, no matter the circumstances. Very importantly, Trofim and Project Administrator Anna Thielke kept an eagle eye on the project’s costs, ensuring we stayed on budget. They were as conscientious to keep us on target as if it were their own money. Everyone we dealt with from I&E has been a delight to work with, from the top down to the crews on site. During the project, we received quite a few comments from homeowners who shared their positive encounters with workers, who were friendly and respectful. Most important of all, we are very happy with the work I&E Construction did for us. This was a major project for our community to undertake and their professionalism and thoroughness gave us the confidence that the work would be done right, to code, and to our complete satisfaction. Speaking for the Board of Directors, I don’t think we could have found better partners for our reserve maintenance repairs, and we will continue to contract with them for any future projects.

From bidding to negotiation the job was handled professionally and within budget. There was a lot of deteriorated building material that had to be removed from the previous siding contractor.A contractor may sound professional and can talk well to clients but the actual detailing and installation can be wrong and won't show up for many years. If the customer does not understand the real technical issues some contractors and subcontractors really talk there way around doing the correct installation.

In the course of their work their work crew man handled our toolshed and partially collapsed it. They never told us what happened or even left us a note. When we found out what happened we talked to the site supervisor and he said they moved it "because it was in the way" but refused to accept responsibility for the damage.So I've been waiting for them or our association to look at the damage before I move the shed. I & E is now threatening to charge a delay to the project because they can't paint our house because the broken shed is in their way. The shed is still there because they refuse to come look and accept responsibility for any damage. Most likely it is ok, but I've been told not to move it without them there to witness any damage.So what kind of contractor is this that causes damage to homeowner property, refuses to accept responsibilty and now wants to charge a penalty for not being able to continue/finish the work?STAY AWAY FROM I & E Construction.Another association board we belong to looked at I & E and wheil they low balled the bid, we decided not to go forward with them. Boy am I glad we didn't use them on that project.
