Goddard School

The Goddard School in Clackamas provided childcare for our oldest son for over a year and was the child care center of choice when our youngest was born.  The staff were flexible and responsive to both boys' needs, one of whom has developmental delay and the other who has medical challenges.  The teachers are fantastic and worked to meet the boys at their level while still challenging their learning.  They are incredibly caring and nurturing, and our oldest son loved going to "school" every day.  The boys were always doing art projects or science projects, engaging in physical activities like yoga or tennis, improving pre-academic skills such as counting, and generally enjoying the learning experience.  Communication between parents and teachers was also good, with notes going home with each boy at the end of the day documenting activities, as well as meals and toileting.  Teachers also made a point to tell us about funny or cute things the boys did, and occasionally about negative behaviors.   They were open to using similar methods of discipline as we use in our home and were always willing to work with us when a particular challenge arose.  Goddard School in Clackamas was a great fit for us.  Sadly, we have relocated out of state, but our experience here inspired us to seek out another Goddard School in our new city.
